Unfortunately, that Pennzoil UP is not the present UP, it is no longer guaranteed to be made from or with GTL. The base oil in 5W-30 ESP, made in and for Canada, is much different than the 0W-20, 0W-30, and 0W-40 made in USA. In that video he was only doing 5W-30. There is another video he...
Saw that video again today on YouTube, it is Lake's "The Hidden History of Mobil 1". Both EP and Truck & SUV have Alkylated Napthalene as part of their base oil, but Truck & SUV is more shear stable than EP. Later in the video he talks about four other Mobil 1 0W-40 products, ESP is one of...
I do not know why Mobil 1 Extended Performance is part of this discussion. The MOG has already tested Mobil 1, Mobil 1 HM, Mobil 1 Extended Performance, and Mobil 1 Truck & SUV, all in SP and 5W-20. And he declared Truck & SUV is the BEST ONE OF THE BUNCH. Check out the video, titled...
Why don't you read what the link says, "The TOP TIER™+ Gasoline Performance Standard will extend the current benefits to newer, higher-efficiency gasoline direct-injected (GDI) engines. The new Plus gasoline standard will include a GDI Fuel Injector Cleanliness Engine Dynamometer Test while...
So you say. I guess that is why many car makers got the Top Tier gas started and did not talk down the API SAE standard. Some critical thinking is needed.
Two UOAs with my 2014 C-Max hybrid using Kirkland 0W20 (Warren), one with 7070 miles and 17 ppm wear metals, the other with 6020 miles and 16 ppm wear metals. That does not take into consideration the 2ppm wear metals that a VOA of Kirkland 0W20 posted in 2024 by another person in this forum...
I saw the same video and it was not just any castor oil, but agricultural grade castor oil. Was supposed to be some ole tyme fix. But I will pass on it.
Are you getting poor results with the Mobil 1? Are you doing UOA? When you are asking about a benefit, it infers you are not happy with what you are using.
You are correct, GTL along with PAOs and Esters. The MOG did a great video on all 4 ESP oils (including the Delvac ESP) a few weeks ago, you should check it out.
Here is the Safety Data Sheet, look at Section 3. The asterisk area states contains one or more of the following, then lists many CAS numbers, one of which is GTL, another is a PAO, but most are regular hyrrocracked Group 3. So with the "one or more of the following" it is a ???? as to what...
Super Tech, Kirkland, Amazon Basics, it is the same blender and, according to VOAs, the same oil. I have used Kirkland 0W20 twice in a hybrid and gotten good UOAs back. And Valvoline Restore and Protect is $29.97 at the WalMart here.
