I’m using a Weiand Stealth 8016, and a brawler 600. The carb was dynoed on the engine, I also have a Holley 750 just in case. I’m going to drive it with the top and see if I like it. The carb did have a spacer when it was dynoed. I want the truck to be a cruiser, but with power.

Thanks for the recommendations thus far. The truck will be drive maybe 1000 miles a year, if I’m lucky, I also have a chevelle I try and drive. Not to mention a 2001 Chevy truck. I only live 6 miles from work so it’s hard to rack up a lot of miles in my POV.
This☝🏻. I had my 72 C10 original 76k SBC cam go flat I believe because of the oil I was running. I was running Quaker state two- full synthetic, which is think has around 850 zinc. Is that the reason it went flat, I don’t know but I can’t think of any other cause other than that. Valvoline...
I’m flying out next weekend to drive with my son for a 15 hour drive back to his main base from a TDY assignment. The Walmart where he is at does oil changes so I’ll have them do a Valvoline Restore and Protect before our trek back east.
