    America's most satisfying car...

Strange, my dealer sent a tech to my house to complete the recalls. There was a battery problem, for the hybrid, the charge program was in need of a refresh, they came to my house for that as well. I have had absolutely not one problem with my Mav.

Ok, you've answered perfectly. I used an expletive in the original post for which I apologize.

    Drawing oil sample for analysis

Its been pushing 100 for awhile and I'm too old to get under my car, so off to Valvoline for the change. They allow me to bring my oil oil and filter and happily go on their way. I want to sample for analysis this time, and wonder if the length (within reason) of time from the time the engine...

What $1.2m gets you in apple valley,Ca

Apple Valley...drugs galore. I had a GF there, but not a great place to be. San Bernadino is a dying city and the county not far behind.

The refrigerator water filter rip off.

I have a 25 yr old Kitchen Aid built in, no filter installed where it is supposed to be. Some didn't come, or were simply added in back to the supply line. It has been working for all these years, so I gave up worrying about it.

    Carquest and MicroGuard oil filters

Since Advance Auto abandoned CA, its hard to get the CQ51516 filters. I went in to O'Reillys and the counter guy said the replacement was the Microgard 51516, which I bought. Cheap. But its not the "select" variety, and says on the box 3-5K miles. Whats the phycial difference between them...

Why Cheap Oil Filters Quietly Destroy Engines- YT Video

In the 70's in Alaska, we used to hold ice races in which Beetles were prominent. There was a shop in town who could get insane amounts of power out of them, and with the heavy rear weight bias, they were extremely fast. Even on the road. I ran several cars including a SAAB Sonnet, which was...

    OIl filters and YouTube

This is ostensibly about an oil filter comparison between two common filters, but this "comparison" is so totally inane that I was wondering do "influencers" make a lot of money just blabbering away on line? Its not even worth going to this as there is absolutely nothing to gain, but he babbles...

Man you must live in a different dimension SoCal than mine!

article: why HOAs continue to be popular

Other points notwithstanding, my realtor is a good friend. He doesn't BS. Perhaps where you live it is desireable, but generally not in SoCal.

article: why HOAs continue to be popular

Like other quasi gov't agencies in CA, HOAs tend to be run by Karens who have power addictions. I have lived in two neighborhoods run by one, and won't ever again. The rules are draconian, and somewhat nebulous. If, for example, I was away for a day and it was trash day, the fact that the...

    E-bike wreck

The problem with that is the people who are taken care of along with the dumb ones.

Nah, its not the E bikes. Its the folks who drive them.

Amazon set to lay off thousands in Washington state

I suspect New York may have something to do with that. In CA, in spite of all the problems here, my Amazon delilveries typically are overnight, rarely over next day, and never over 2 days.

Is it worth it to buy better quality tires?

To me some things are worth virtually any price, including tires. I put $20/month aside and that will cover me for ~4 years for new tires. Cheap insurance, of all things to worry about. Of course here, a $2 difference for a quart of oil is a great problem for many ;-)
