Curious why you think that big motor that runs at lower rpms would shear oil. My motorcycle runs 14000 rpms and oil becomes water very quickly. I always thought lower rpms sheared it less but would like to know.
From what I am seeing my 96 Grand Marquis have plastic tie rod balls in them. Moog and Mevotech have sintered powder metal which has to be better than plastic if you keep them lubed. The OE are sealed non greasable and I prefer being able to put my own grease in it.
I would find a good shop or maybe a gun show and compare what you like. Ask them why there' is better than a competitor as they likely know the products very well.
I try to always get Akebono having worked there many years ago they are very good quality and very consistently perform and wear well. If I was towing heavy loads I would consider semi metallic otherwise Akebono to me are best bang for buck. Not the cheapest nor the most expensive but always...
My answer would be yes meaning go longer than 1 year but some say no. Depends on your environment and if car is garaged or not too. Oil in sump should be relatively stable not like in a sealed container but I wouldn't change it unless I suspected water or some contamination.
This is part of why I gave up my 15 years of Costco membership. The battery I bought went bad and was only 2 years old. They no longer carried that size battery and refused to honor because they no longer carry it. I had to argue with the store manager who finally gave me a credit but it took...
Inflation continues to eat our money up. I just bought a battery for my wife's car. $150 and the same battery was $80 3 1/2 years ago. The warranty is not as good anymore either 3 year not 5. I couldn't prove when I bought it other than I kept the record in my maintenance book so they said no...
No let EV grow into it's own naturally. All this taxpayer money thrown at something that is not yet mainstream in most of the country is absurd. It should be able to stand on it's own. Most people including myself don't buy or rent one for range anxiety. They currently are not a great option for...
I can assure you these were on the vehicle that sat for at least 6 months probably 9 before I decided I would want the 4wd for deer season. I don't really need 4wd in summer months and waited until it was cooler to work on it. There was definitely surface rust where rotor pads contact but cars...
