    Amsoil Signature Series & GF-7

Interesting, no "New & Improved" tagging, just updated specs, nicely and quietly done!

    Walmart oil prices - Ah!

As a long-time Honda owner, I've found the OLM is merely an algorithm. The spoiler is low initial viscosity oils, direct injection, turbo charged small displacement engines and a lot of typically short trips. On my wife's 2020 Honda CRV EX-L 1.5t, using Mobil1 EP 0w-20, I took an oil sample at...

New Purolator Gold 20K Mile Oil Filter Consensus?

After the recent debacle, I'm not very confident using anything associated with Mann-Hummel.

    Walmart oil prices - Ah!

Unfortunately I won't be going back to the DIY group, at 78 and some physical and logistics (live in a townhouse, no garage)problems. i still hand deliver my oil & filter to my Technician at my dealership. I do still change intake and cabin filters, and check and adjust tire pressures...

    Walmart oil prices - Ah!

Just checked my local Walmart, the Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 went from $29.97 to $34.97, it's a shame but I switched to Amsoil Signature, and they went up too. It will be interesting to see if, when oil prices drop and stabilize, the price will drop.....probably not 😠

    Amsoil Signature Series & GF-7

I think the key here is yes, Signature meets (and most likely exceeds) all API and ILSAC standards and no, they won't pay to have the " Magic Donut" as part of the marketing. When it's reccomended and used personally by my Honda Master-Certified Technician and used during my regular service at...

    Amsoil Signature Series & GF-7

Well, I guess I'll have to wait, I have enough Signature 0w20 for three oil changes so it will be next year before I need more. I'm fairly confident that the current formation will work well enough to get our 2 Hondas thru until the latest formation comes available. Hopefully they will also have...

    Ollie's Wolf's Head 5w20 full synthetic

Back in the late 60's and early 70's the Go-to oil in the Formula V racing group i was in was D-A Speed Sport. Another vanished brand, have no idea who made it.

Misleading AAP oil on sale rant

I've gotten bundles from both AAP and AZ over the years, since I switched to Amsoil about a year ago, I'd been buying the EA15K13 filters from them. Due to the quality issues with Champion made filters i switched to the Mobil 1 M110a. When I can find them at Walmart they are $11.97, no way I'll...

EV and Hybrid - CAR - Front ends. Ugly.

Strangely, all the years I drove Corvairs, we never really noticed the lack of a grill. The last one i restored, a 1966 Monza Coupe was such a beautiful thing a grill would have looked weird. I do remember that J.C. Witney, a purveyor of many totally unnecessary automotive accessories, did have...

EV and Hybrid - CAR - Front ends. Ugly.

Perhaps I'm biased, but Honda hybrids are mostly distinguished by a small "Hybrid" badge almost invisible on the rear of the vehicle, front ends, grills etc looking pretty much identical to the ICE versions. I appreciate that. I do miss fog lights though.

    Air Filter life span

Unless you have the ability to measure flow restriction, why agonize over it? Just spend the $20, stop worrying about it and replace it. At least you're establishing a baseline as you don't know the history.

    Ten oil filters compared. Video.

Just received 4 Microgard Select MSL57356 from O'Reilly, had to order them online so wasn't able to actually look at them. I had assumed (dangerous, I know) that these were made in Vietnam likely others that were cut/examined here on BITOG. Well, turns out they are made in China. I generally...

Price of Amsoil going up at midnight

When i had my Scout troop (BSA then) they would ask me where my favorite place to camp was...I always told them "The Hyatt Regency"

    wrist and pocket watch Freak

Actually, I bought it for her, she sold all of her Movado watches to help. It was also our 55 anniversary and she'd never owned an actual timepiece, just fashion watches. She wears it daily, I adjust it once every 2 weeks, it gains a second or two daily, well within specifications.
