Post your latest oil or filter purchase

@tah8436 nice gesture from Dad. I would very politely take it, say thank you, then quietly slip it in the recycling next visit. (Maybe use in the lawnmower depending on grade). Bargain basement, opened conventional, even free; not worth the risk IMO.

HPL resupply for the year. Significant cost increase ... not having the 20% off and $25 shipping this year really hurt. (FWIW: 0w-30 is for the Tacoma and the Super Car 5w-50 is for the Boss302 😱 5.0 "Roadrunner engine holds 10.5 quarts)

Thread for photos that 100% do not violate any Terms Of Service, not political, not lewd, no gas price pics etc.

Camouflaged and debadged test cars straight off the plane at ATL airport. Only looking into the window can you verify the make. No surprise there were quite a bit of extra electronic bits, switches and boxes fixed inside them. The wagon was awesome.

If an automaker was selling a new car or truck, what questions would you have for them when it comes to getting 200k+ miles out of it?

@grasscutter Can't argue against this. Makes you / me want to reconsider just going back to all inclusive leases again.... Bite the bullet with a hefty monthly payment. Keep the miles within reason and be done with it. (Killer here in VA is they make you pay sales tax as if you bough it at...

Oh, also, coolant crossover pipes. Have those ever worked? Do what you gotta do, throw a few engineers and pencil pushers out of a 2nd story window... These ALWAYS seem to fail and either kill the engine or cost $$$$. I mean, c'mon was this ever a thing before the 2000's?

I would LOVE it if we forced manufactures to clearly disclose costs of replacement parts/labor. Would not take long for them to square themselves away or die Examples (Of unacceptable): - VW [new] beatle headlamp replacement: $500-800 (Fender has to come off) - VW DCT transmission flush...

Predator 4000 watt generator 212cc not working after extended storage

Maybe already one in there? My two Stihl 2T both have a little wire mesh one; sits inside the tank. I would lean pessimistic about adding one in-line.

Predator 4000 watt generator 212cc not working after extended storage

^ Second this. Nearly identical experience with my fathers old mower; like new Honda, less than 6 hours on it, then sat under the deck for ~36 months. It kind of ran on starting fluid... The fix was total disassembly and deep cleaning of the carb. 2 gaskets were deteriorated and there was...

Coffee makers...what works best for you?

French Press tastes the best to me. I used it for years. But, stopped because they are just too messy to clean. Have been using pour over last 3 years or so. Happy with it, and much easier to clean.

    Ollie's Wolf's Head 5w20 full synthetic

WH and Valvoline were the base-line at local/independent part stores here in VA. Early '90's I worked at a heavy truck place; Just about every petro product we sold was WH. Delivery came 2x week (Small truck from PA I think) and the sales rep was in all the time. My '66 Mustang ran on it for...

Oil Filter for Generator with 2013 4.3L GM Vortec V6

Dude! A v8 generator on Long Island o_O. Gotta wonder, what are you backing up?

    '96 Pathfinder - 16.9 mpg - Pathetic!

Maybe heavier/taller aftermarket tires (I lost 1-2 MPG that way) Sounds like a great platform to go full retard with aftermarket, late night TV solutions. Start here: Tornado Air "More power, More Mileage" :ROFLMAO:

Oil Filter for Generator with 2013 4.3L GM Vortec V6

No idea, but dang that's a big engine for a back up generator. Seems like sized for a small store with large freezers or a gas station. Maybe it just lumbers along and that gets it excellent long term reliability and respectable "MPG" IDK. Good luck with it!

    Slate EV Pickup

good one @captainbeandip . something to be said for a small, light low power vehicle; being able to run it 100% flat out and not come into the realm of jail time speed. Like the Isuzu diesel pickup I drove at work for a little bit. It fun running wide-open 99% of the time, like a classic...
