That suuuuuuucks. I wonder what became of Isky? Comp Cams was king of the hill for a long time right?
To be fair, I only was involved with a single aftermarket cam, that was bacon the 90's. I wanted an Isky or Crane, but went with a Mopar Performance due to the split lift and duration #'s...
Sounds well planned. Curious why Summit branded cam?
I'm guessing this will be low mileage per year? I'd do top shelf 10-30 with annual changes if it was me (ie HPL or the A[cult] )
My Daughters little Honda was about half both those numbers. BUT, super easy to spill and fill. I opted to just spill and fill with each oil change while I was in there.
I would speculate anything wet clutch safe is fine. It was ages ago [but has 2T changed that much?] We were told by the Honda and independent shop and manual simply: "Change after every race"
Fuel dilution is certainly the killer of 2T crankcase oil, but were talking less than s qt per...
Very interesting!
Seems like a piece of equipment that is frequently rented. Suggest contact local equipment rental and see what they use. Probably not much difference between makes/models and those rental places live and die off repairs/PM.
(Obviously, also try to contact the manufacturer)
Saw similar pre-RONA at local Toyota dealer; If you were still under the Toyota Care (Maintenance included for the first 32k or whatever it was when you bought it new) You got TGMO. Outside of that it was something else.
While I'm dreaming; I'd like to see mandate where manufactures have to disclose line item replacement costs of things like this and say $600 VW transmission flushes. BEFORE they are allowed to sell you the car. (My Sister probably would not have bought her new beatle if she new ahead of time...
Sad this is a problem. I say waterboard him for intel, then his accomplices, then them and on and on. Then they get hard labor work release until restitution is paid
IMHO: Supply and demand is the main factor.
Cost of fuel and cost of electricity (For those willing to deep dive when researching)
Domestic situation: 2 car household have a lot of flexibility in terms of say a medium/large SUV + an EV cover their needs. A LOT of single / non-nuclear...
6:02 anyone notice the RAT deployed? I recon just testing for the sake of it and/or certification?
Hopefully has more gusto than the 787. I'm a cargo guy, 78 is weak sauce
Dang, I miss the days of flipping thru HotRod looking at all the ads and articles imagining all the stuff that could actually be done on a car. I'm not talking about bolting on $5-10k wheels and tires or paying someone else thousands for a computer flash or wrap. I mean a new cam or 4bbl.
I’ll get a smal pension from the Army at 59 (23 years of reserve service)
Now my main gig… 2012 we got a simple (cold) email saying our pensions are frozen. 😢Replaced by a 401k program worth about half by my estimation. Still vested though So at 60 I’ll get about $1.4k a month from that...
