Very interesting, I did a VOA recently and it showed a oxidation of 7, this one is 10, is there any threshold for oxidation in a new oil where you would figure it has more/less PAO?
That's interesting, I also imagine I would've felt a bigger difference in the behavior of the car when switching from 20 to 40 grade, so far haven't noticed anything.
Yes, gasoline here is only E30. There is premium fuel too but even that is E25.
Why would E30 lead to more fuel dilution?
Really? XW-20? I don't think its impossible, the engine is rated for this viscosity according to some hard to obtain documents, but that's really rare to see in Brazil...
Exactly what I thought too, they might be using 5W-30 in the original oil, and using "cheaper" 5W-40 in the dealership.
I asked Renault about this, and while they didn't directly answered my question about which oil is used at the factory they did confirm the recommendation for 5W-30 fully...
Hey guys,
This is a used oil analysis for the first oil change of my Renault Kardian, a new model sold in Brazil and other emerging countries, with a small 3 cylinder 1 litter turbo engine.
I put Castrol GTX in the title but actually I'm not sure if that is the case since this is the factory...
Hey guys, hope you all are doing fine.
This is a oil used by Renault in Brazil in the newly released Renualt Kardian, a small 3 cylinder 1 litter turbo engine. Officially Renault calls this engine "TCe", but its code is HR10DDT.
Renault gives very little information about which is the correct...
