Nothing but good things to say about the Wix/NAPA filters. We have driven Subarus forever and I've been using the (5)7055 filter on all our engines since around 2014 when we got our first non-EJ engine. Never have had the first problem, plus I have NAPA and Oreilly within 2-3 miles. Subaru...
It seems like in my area that I find this most often at the Kia dealers. (Haven't shopped a Kia in a few years.) At the time the cars needed all they could get to sell and the customer base was the most likely to be groomed for such, so Wormwood Kia, sounds about right.
Remember everyone, the oil is formulated by engineers; the language on the bottle is written by lawyers. In my opinion, what's in the bottle is more important than what's on the bottle. This isn't bobisthelawyerguy.com... 😁
You really need to consider trying vanilla air. When I first used vanilla air my car smoothed right out. Seemed to have more horsepower and my gas mileage went up 3 mpg. Also, make sure you don't buy your vanilla air at Walmart, because it is not the same as other vanilla air sold at other...

The FL-500S actually at one time was cross-referenced to the AC Delco PF63 for the 5.3 & 6.2 GM engines. Not sure this is the case anymore as GM has changed its bypass spec, but as far as canister size, they are almost identical.
Had a similar experience with a 2013 Subaru Legacy. Car had the 2.5 FB engine that the internet has blown up as a major oil burner. I never experienced major consumption, but it typically used between 3/4 and 1 quart in a 5K oci. I switched brands between Mobil 1 AFE, PP, and QSUD all in 0W20...
Yeah I know it. If it makes you feel any better I used Quaker State Synthetic in my wife's Legacy during the last oil change. My truck is due next and I have 8 quarts of NAPA sitting on the shelf for it. Valvouser....nah I'll just keep the name and not worry about it. In all seriousness I do...
