I noticed an ad for Techron recently in which they claimed Techron would help a sticking fuel gauge. I have a fuel gauge in an 01 F150 which is very slow to register when you add gas to it. Has anyone had any experience with this, and do you know anything about Techron's ability to help this...
The 4.0 was excluded from the 5W20 back spec, it still requires 5W30. As far as finding a list of vehicles for the back spec you can find that in Ford's TSBs. Sorry I can't give you anything more specific than that, but that is where I found it.
Definitely flush that coolant ASAP. I had a 2001 Focus that I ran 100K without a flush and ended up replacing the thermostat housing and heater core. I could have saved myself a lot of trouble if I had just flushed the coolant on a timely basis.
I have an Allis-Chalmers ACC 30 L PS propane powered forklift that is low on hydraulic fluid. The problem is I don't know what hydraulic fluid to add to it. Does anyone here know what the appropriate hydraulic fluid would be for this fork lift? Thanks
I'm not sure what tranny your Ranger has, but in the Focus they use an MTX-75. Ford used to specify ATF in that one as well, but then they changed to Ford Synthetic Manual transmission fluid (aka Ford Honey) XT-M5-QS. That fluid seems to work very well. You can get it at your dealer, but it is...
Here in OKC Conoco/Phillips gas is often some of the least expensive gas available but is rated top tier. It is the only gas I will use. Also several posters have commented on MPG, as I understand it top tier is all about keeping your fuel system clean not improving mileage.
What motor was this, if you don't mind my asking? I am considering GC into my 4.0 SOHC Explorer. This engine is not back speced for 5W20. Ford has specifically excluded it. But this post is giving me second thoughts about the GC. Thanks
