    M1 5W-20 4,024 miles, 05 Honda V6... Copper??

No, this car does not have VCM. I don't think it was used in the 05 3.0, but I could be wrong. I think it was offered in the van and the hybrid that year. Anyway, I will get a Dyson report the next time I change the oil. This car is in very good shape. It is not abused, but does make a lot of...

    M1 5W-20 4,024 miles, 05 Honda V6... Copper??

OK, I am still waiting for this Copper to settle down. According to Blackstone it is not that unusual in some Honda V6 engines. I hope this is so. Any ideas or thoughts? The first (on right side) test was regular Pennzoil 5W-20. The second test was Mobil 1 5W-20. The third test was Mobil 1...

It has been real slow around here the last week or two. I am sure some of the "local vocals" will give you some comments soon. Mike

No, I just worded that wrong. I change the air filter once a year. I did use a Honda air filter when I changed it though. Yes, I may go conventional (havoline, etc) in the near future. At this time I am just wanting the copper to drop to a good average. Mike

    M1 5W-20 4,024 miles, 05 Honda V6... Copper??

I made a mistake above, the first oil change was with regular Pennzoil 5W-20 dino oil. The other 2 reports are with Mobil 1 5W-20. Also a bottle of Chevron Techron was used during the last oil change period. Mike

    M1 5W-20 4,024 miles, 05 Honda V6... Copper??

The report below is on my Son's 05 Accord V6 3.0 that we bought new. I left the original factory oil in for 4,029 miles. I usually change the original oil sooner, but had heard that Honda recommended to run the factory oil for 4 or 5000. Anyway, after that, all oil changes have been with Mobil 1...

    M1 10W-30 2,903 miles, 01 Tundra 4.7..Ideas?

Well, I agree with most of what everyone is saying. I am concerned about this but not "scared" about this. I am just hoping it does not get much worse. The reason I was thinking about going to a dino oil was just to make it cheaper and then I would change it every six months. Luckily it is not...

BlazerLT........IF you had read the whole thread you would see that I mentioned that in the beginning. If I could get a year at a time with no problems, I MIGHT stay with synthetic, other wise I would probably switch to a good dino. Kinda "ridiculous" ??? Mike

I think you are correct, at least I hope so. I have laid off the Techron and will see how things go the next couple of changes. Mike

    M1 10W-30 2,903 miles, 01 Tundra 4.7..Ideas?

I watched all of the early Tundra problems including the SC stuff on Tundra Solutions. I think the bottom end and the early transmissions (thru 02) were both "some" of the reasons they (TRD) dropped the SC. I do not remember hearing anything about certain "bearings" having a QC problem, but I...

    M1 10W-30 2,903 miles, 01 Tundra 4.7..Ideas?

I bought this truck used in December of 2002 with 16,000 miles on it. Truck was in excellent shape and local dealer (friend) said it was like new. I have no previous service records on the vehicle. I immediately changed the oil and filter and started using Mobil 1 5w30 up until 30,000 miles then...

I changed the original factory oil at 1,232 miles and used Toyota 5w30 oil and a Toyota filter. The next oil change was at 5,378 miles (4,146 on oil) and I changed to PP 5w30 and used a Toyota filter. That oil (Toyota brand) is the first oil change in the below report. The last change was...

Yes, they do check for anti freeze. I guess what they were saying was that they don't see any anti freeze, but because sodium was still high they put a "?" mark there. Kinda weird, but I do think this will be down even more next sample. I think it is normal for this engine and Toyota factory...

I had the original factory oil changed in this car at 1,701 miles. The oil and filter was changed using Toyota brand 5w30 oil and a Toyota filter. The second oil change was at 5,283 total miles and the Toyota oil had 3,582 miles on it. That report is the first report on the Blackstone report...
