What is the difference between Napa Gold and ProSelect air filters?

The both appear to use the same manufacturer part number (Wix 46914), but there's ~$6 difference.
Maybe there's a Napa typo?
Maybe a scam...

Does anyone have a comparison between Baldwin High Velocity Dual Flow vs. Fleetguard Venturi Combo?
The design of the Baldwin bypass appears to be a synthetic fiber media, while Fleetguard appears to be a metal stacked media disc. But I don't know, and I can't tell if the bypass media is metal...

They say the same thing about conventional oil vs synthetic, unless you have temperature extremes. The same between brands too. But still people don't believe them...
I am one of those customers who thinks NextGen was an inferior product and couldn't believe the marketing claims. Valvoline would have to do a lot of independent testing to prove to me used oil is better than unused oil. And if it isn't better, but just as good, it would have to be offered at a...
My 2005 Subaru's oil is black after a few thousand miles. The engine also has the tiniest oil filter I've seen. Not sure how long the oil can go. Like to hear your experiences and UOA results.

Wix is one of the best.
I want an oil filter that balances filtration, capacity, and oil flow. And I think Wix does that, not sure about the others. I like the construction of Wix too.

This seems to be the truth for me too. What is going to wear out is the car or the seals, but not the engine metal-to-metal wear that...
It isn't the "oil" that will wear out over time. It is the additives that will wear out over time.
One of the main additives is the anti-oxidants that will wear out after 1 year.
I've driven a few engines into the ground. Some with no oil change, some with no oil filter, some with very long...
Does a trucking company want to keep changing oil every 3-5K on their entire fleet?
And I imagine OTR trucks have more of an issue with soot removal. It does make me wonder of other differences between OTR and passenger engines. It seems like there are a lot of differences.
Smaller micron...
Filtering the oil with a bypass doesn't address the depletion of the additives.
Then there's the increase concentration of contaminates.
Then there's dilution.
Then you need to send in costly oil samples to determine what's going on.
The only thing that has ever worn out in my engines are the...
