Drain "all" oil oil during an oil change or "most"

Slow drips sounds about right as long as is not a steady stream. For me, if I am changing the oil on Saturday, I will start draining after back home on Friday night. Take me a couple of minutes to unscrew the plug anyway.

too much oil - crankshaft splash

I think Leo99 refers to the OP's 0.7/4.3q overfill, which equates to 16.28%, and 15% as quoted is close enough for general discussion purpose.

valve cover pics - CRV 98 - normal wear???

Thank you people for the inputs. Pretty clean no doubt. I guess the degree of wear/pattern would be what is expected for a 170k mile old engine. Assuming nothing changes, can these cams go another 170k mile?

Castrol Edge 10w60'Di-ester base for protection'

Diesters is a Grp V. Though it may have lower performance than complex and polyol easters. I am more interested to know if this Edge 10w60 has similar spec and formulation as the good old Castrol Formula RS 10w60? Perhaps favor among racers because of its HTHS of above 5 to provide best...

Same Valvoline bottles as U. S !!! Yipee

There are choices out there. Edge Sport 5w30 is called fully syn. It is mainly Grp III and frequently sells for $30 for 5L. Edge 0w40 is mainly Grp IV and we have seen the price of $50 for 5L. Durablend and Super 2000, is semi syn and a mix of Grp III and I, but why worry, it got a rating of...

Same Valvoline bottles as U. S !!! Yipee

VR1 in Australia used to come in 20W50. Before Valvoline changed their websbite from data and information based to description based, I believe Synpower 0W40 was mainly consisted of Grp IV base oil. That is different from the usual 5W40. Durablend has the widest selections of SAE ranges. It...

    Castrol Edge 0w40

My question of Castrol Edge 0W40 is why only TBN of 10.2? When M1 5W50, 15W50, 0W40 are all above 11? HTHS is not a problem, at least, it is the same as M1 0W40. I am guessing it will shear similarly as M1 0W40. You can search through the UOA here to get some ideas. However, with $50 price...
