Higher viscosity index.
The 5W-30's viscosity changes less with temperature, so it will tend to be thicker...

Valve-stem oil seals: Use 5W-40 or thicker -- makes 2 - 3 times difference. I replaced them on my 1985 Corolla and no oil consumption since.
Rings: Viscosity...

See https://mobiloil.com/en/motor-oils/mobil-1/mobil-1
Also, which is the more important value to look at: Viscosity at 40 degrees C, or Viscosity at 100 degrees C?
Regular vehicle is a Prius, and it doesn't show engine temp...

I haven't tried that yet. Some other people with the same Toyota Prius issue have replaced their PCV valves. IIRC, it didn't help, but I'll double-check.
About how much should a new PCV valve cost with labor?

The M1 EP High Mileage seems to be hard to find at a good price...

The Toyota Prius is consuming about 1QT of oil every 750miles. This is a known issue with the 2010-2014 Toyota Prius. The fix recommended by Toyota (replacing the piston rings) costs over $1500, so that's not an...
Funny you were looking at the spreadsheet. I was just looking at it too.
I found at least one discrepancy between the Mobile 1 spreadsheet and their website. Not sure which has the error, but it's probably the spreadsheet.
For regular Mobil 1 10W-30, the spreadsheet does not mention ILSAC...
Have been using Mobil 1 0W-20 on the 2010 Prius with ~146K.
Was considering switching to Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W-30 in the future due to oil consumption issue.
Then noticed that the only spec Toyota requires for the Prius is an ILSAC rating (manual doesn't specify which one), and that none of...

No cold season here. I try to make each trip 20 minutes one way, 40 minutes round-trip (usually with a stop for an hour or two between the trip legs).

^^^^^^^^ I agree with above
Change it every two years. No reason to mention anything else, since you are hiding your location...
Vehicle is a 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ with about 128K miles. It now gets driven under 700mi/year. Last oil change was in February 2017 with dino (non-synthetic) 10W30 or 10W40. About 1100 miles driven since that oil change, and it's now January 2019.
Any reason to get an oil change? Or wait...
