Strange deposit formation on shocks. What is it? (pics)

That's definately a rotten "bump stop". If your struts are that old, you might want to consider replacing them. If the struts aren't that old then I'd start yelling at the mechanic that did the job.

UOA... When should I plan mine?

Car is a 1993 Mazda 626. 2.5l V6 with automatic overdrive transmission. It has 170,000km on it. Driving is mostly short trip city. About a week ago I changed the oil. It's got Mobil1 0W30 synth, with 1/2 quart of Quaker State synth ATF and about 2 ounces on MolySlip E added in. Oil filter is an...

    Auto-RX... make available in Canada?

I'm just waiting for some interest in a bulk purchase here in Calgary. So far only one other person is interested.

ATF - Add to the crankcase? Gas tank?

Thanks... I've tried searches, and get lots of hits, but I don't see a lot of definitive results. Lots of posts about using ATF with MMO, or FP... but nothing concrete. Example thread Just looking to find out if adding ATF alone to the crankcase or gas is a good thing, and if so, how much...

MolySlip E - Yay or Nay?

Thanks for the heads up... I think I'll do a cheap oil change and add, maybe 10% of the can. Once it's had time to work into the motor (500-1000Kms) I'll do a decent oil change.

MolySlip E - Yay or Nay?

MolySlip E page Wouldn't a product like this just plug up the oil filter? If not, is it a decent additive? I'm thinking that it would help in an older engine that may have scored, worn, etched surfaces.

ATF - Add to the crankcase? Gas tank?

I've seen several posts suggesting additives that go into the gas and oil, etc... One such item is ATF. I've heard that adding ATF to the crankcase will help keep the motor cleaner than oil alone. Is this true? How much to add? Should it only be done within 100 miles of an oil change? I've...

Didn't see this the first time I looked. Was a quick search once I posted my question though. Calgary hazardous waste disposal

    Auto-RX... make available in Canada?

So nothing... Just that you have to take shipping costs into account. That's one of the reasons I'm suggesting that they find a "distributor" up here. Auto-RX doesn't make any money on the shipping, so if we can shave that down everyone benefits.

Noob - All questions rolled into one post...

I had to do some real hunting, but I found Mobil 1 0W30. I have no oil issues with 5w30 dino, so I don't expect any MAJOR problems with the 0w30. Finding a filter was another story. I ended up with a Fram knockoff - "Defence". At least I didn't go with stock on my 626. A '93 Corvette Z1 filter...

    Auto-RX... make available in Canada?

Being shipped by courier can really add to the price. PLUS, you have to watch our for brokerage fees as well. (Not sure if you'd be charged any) I ordered $30 worth of small car parts then ended up being shipped UPS from the US. Brokerage fees were $60!!!

What to do with the old stuff?

So, after you change your own oil, or tranny fluid, or flush your brakes, what do you do with the 4+ quarts of fluid? I figure that you'd just take it to the local oil change shop, etc... but they'd want to charge for disposal, right? What is the best thing to do with this stuff? (I'm located...

    Auto-RX... make available in Canada?

I'd be willing to "stock" a fair supply. I'm in Calgary, and I'm sure that others elsewhere would also be interested. If I did stock a supply, who'd be interested in picking it up here? Any shipping hassles to watch out for? Also, anyone in Calgary want to get together for a "bulk" buy?
