2 things.. The car is not a daily driver. 4000 miles in a years time. The oil was in the car for almost 8 months. That might explain the oxidation levels. I would definitely use Royal Purple again. I'm really suprised no one else has anything to say. People kept saying they wanted more...

Late on this post but my brother has a 2001 NHRA Formula that we run Mobil1 5w-30 in with a UPF58 oil filter and so far, little to none oil consumption. He doesn't beat it but it is a daily driver. I still think Mobil1 makes a decent oil.

He's been using it for 2 years so I'm pretty sure it's the Tri-Syn. As for the filter, I found a guy on LS1.com that was selling them and bought 2 cases. Still have a few left but running thin on them. Good filters.

I know my dad used to use this like every 10K miles on his '69 Cutlass. I didn't think it was still around until I found their website : http://www.rislone.com/ Just curious what anyone thought about this stuff. Some of the old school guys in my grandfather's service station used to swear by it.

I'm almost out of my UPF58 oil filters and I'd like some thoughts or opinions on a viable replacement. I've heard bad things about FRAM but I wonder about Mobil1 and Purolator. Thanks!
