I believe (check the owners manual) Ford specs 5W30 and the FF is MC Semi-Syn in the 2.7. You could stick with that or any brand name full syn ( M1, PP, Castrol, etc) will do, and is what I would prefer. For filter, again MC is good or stick to brand name quality filters.
The old saying of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" may apply here.
If using conventional really bothers you, I like the suggestion above of moving to a semi-syn.
Pennzoil Gold or Motorcraft Semi in 5W30 would do the trick.
You may also want to consider Pennzoil High Mileage.
Why people feel the need to park so far up a parking spot they need to touch/ hit the curb with their front tires (and in most cases on a low front end scrap the [censored] out of the underside of their front bumper) I have no idea.
Pet peeve of mine.
The only time oil is at an acceptable price is when it's on sale, otherwise we are being ripped off up here.
Collect your Canadian Tire money, shop the sales, and it's al good, Pay full price I guess you have more money than brains!
Still waiting to see PU at my local CTC.
I regularly fill up both VW's at Esso using their Premium. I'm sure the new Synergy Gasoline is doing what it is suppose to be doing, but the ol' but-o-meter hasn't noticed anything, nor did I expect to.
