Yeah I agree. We shall never know. Im more under the assumption to use a 15w50 Motul classic synthetic blend that has 1800 ppm zinc and phosphorus and super high moly think 300+ as an "additive" before these other bs claiming additives. Lmao. Its thick but not STP thick or thinning you...
Not added to a base oil like 5w30? I still think one of the better additives is Moly Schaeffers stuff its thick as hek. But has antimony and micro moly. Love to see that with a bearing test. 5w40 mobil bs 5w40 with moly. Anyways. Who knows.
All oils have the ability to clean with their detergent levels. What are you even talking about. I never said eyeing an oil was accurate. It seemed thinner than 15w50 Napa valvoline and I ran it since because its $4.87 a quart usually and very good oil for the price.
Anyone ever do a voa or uoa on Amalie 5w50 or 15w50? I drove 10k miles (2 oil changes with Amalie 5w50) in my car. It was fine I guess. It got really thin when draining it and very dark but its the cleaning properties. Texas heat too on the oil and two turbos pushing 600 hp.
I dont disagree. But this oil is a budget oil. I usually just run 15w50 in my Benz and 5w40 both napa oils (Valvoline) and utilize 2.9 quarts of 20w50 VR1 Full synthetic Valvoline with the benz. It runs with a lot better oil preasure and 0w40 always shears more to a 30w quickly.
If the oil is shearing under a 40w as mentioned prior. Running the additive thats thicker will promote the oil from going under its the desired viscosity.
You can always add Schaeffers moly additive as its super thick and has Antimony. Keeps shearing to a min. I thought of running it that way on my next oil change.
