    ARX q's

I would use regular Valvo for the clean/rinse phase. Change the filter at 2k? even if I use a good one, NG, P1 for example. ST filters claim to hold 2x the contaminants. I will be in the middle of a semester when/if I do this, thats why I wanted to use the arx in the middle of an OCI and do a...

    ARX q's

With nearly 120k on my 02 2.2l sonoma, I was considering an ARX treatment but I have this overwhelming fear of putting any thing extra into my oil. so: what are the potential problems arx could cause? This truck is my lifeline if something were to happen to it that would be bad. do I really...

    Oil filters-NAPA Gold= Wix?

Not that much of a difference? Thats what I was thinking (and hoping for). But reading some threads about NG and P1 some people make it sound like they are drastically different and go so far as to claim the P1 is a 5um filter and the NG is 20ish. After reading so many of those I was wondering...

    Oil filters-NAPA Gold= Wix?

I'd prefer a bit of both: quality components and fine filtration. This is why I like the P1, it has both. The NG has quality construction, but apparently it is not much better at filtration than any other filter you can get for less. If NG is identical to Wix and uses the expensive t-03 glass...

    Oil filters-NAPA Gold= Wix?

This is why I want to go F#### postal on oil filter makers. The 6 dollar NG/Wix is a POS compared to Fram's 99% single pass (it says so right on the box). If the NG is equal to the wix an has a SPE of *ONLY* 50% at 19um (with the t-03 glass enhanced media...ya, I dont know what the F it means...

    Oil filters-NAPA Gold= Wix?

The wix website says wix filters have a nominal micron rating at 19um and use a cellulose media. The NAPA gold use the glass enhanced media and only say they catch more 10-12 micron particles. Doesn't sound like to same filter?

Why buy the name, when can get product cheaper

Why buy Emodepsid when you can get Cyclo [D-2-hydroxypropanoyl-N-methyl-L-leucyl-3-[4-(4-morpholinyl)phenyl]-D-2-hydroxypropanoyl-N-methyl-L-leucyl-D-2-hydroxypropanoyl-N-methyl-L-leucyl-3-[4-4(4-morpholinyl)phenyl]-D-2-hydroxypropanyl-N-methyl-L-leucyl] for half the cost? Its the same thing...

Pennzoil is full of wax, quakerstate is thinner than water, supertech is recycled oil, castrol will cause immediate engine failure... the list of rumors goes on and on.

    Yes, another oil filter question.

Yes I agree, but you will have a better chance of finding the loch ness monster than getting a copy of the test results. I wish manufacturers had to list the results on the box, like ingredients for food items.

    Yes, another oil filter question.

True, and until I can open the various filters up Ill never know if it still has less media or not. Assumeing it does have less Ill let the question stand. This filter caught my eye because of construction, price, media (syn blend), and that spin flow technology.

    Yes, another oil filter question.

I've asked a bunch of oil filter related questions over the last few days and appreciate the help, however I have one (ok...maybe 2) more. Right now I'm eyeballing the NAPA select http://www.napafilters.com/nselect/ which is NAPAs midgrade filter. It has cellulose/synthetic media and "spin flow...

What oil filters has the best filration?

I just did a bunch of "research" on oil filters. So far my conclusion is: it does not matter, any oil filter will get you to 200k+ miles. I have read threads stating oil filter X is the best and Y is the worst. Yet the next thread said X is the worst and Y is the best. Every filter on the market...
