Ok I'll play. Here's a shot of the dash on a new F150 Powerboost hybrid on a trip from S.A. to Houston recently. Note the mpg and distance to empty. Impressive

3 things my mechanic said will help a turbo last longer

What I do with my new '21 F-150 3.5 eco hybrid when pulling in to a rest area is shut it off, get out and lock it, then remote start it right away. You can go do your business and relax a minute and the truck is happily idling away cooling down. I always did this with my Super Duties as well...

Post your Gas Mileage : Calculated

Ok I'll play. The pics are from June in my new 2021 Explorer King Ranch 2 wheel drive with the 3.0L ecoboost. The pics are from it's first trip from S.A. to Houston to visit my daughter and grandson, car was 3 days old. First pic was on way back 150 miles into the trip. Second pic was home in my...

    Motorcraft oil question

I forgot to mention that in 2000 Ford still recommended 5W30 for the 4.6's. You have no worries if you want to switch yours to the thicker oil. The first tank of gas this one got 18.9 MPG in all city driving with the A/C on, who needs thin oil for good mileage??!! Lol

    Motorcraft oil question

That car is just a pup compared to the one I just picked up for a beater. 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6 2V with 223,600 miles! Yes that mileage is correct and it's been very well maintained by the original owner, I am the 2nd owner. It's had Motorcraft 5W30 syn blend oil changes every 5K miles...

    Ford OLM - explain?

It takes into account time in sump, mileage, number of cold starts, idle time, and hours in operation. I have an F450 for towing a large fifth wheel and it sits a lot in the garage. Changed the oil last June and the oil life % is down to 38% left. That's with just 2200 miles driven on the oil...

    2017 Ford Fusion SE....

That's a solid car for the money. It's got "Ford CPO" stickers on it as well. That'll get you a 7yr 100K powertrain warranty and a 12/12 mostly B to B after the original 3-36 warranty is up. I'd jump on it. I owned that exact car only 2016 and it was problem free at end of my lease and 45K miles

The furthest you’ve driven, straight on through

St Petersburg Beach Florida to San Antonio Texas is one sitting. 22 hours and 1244 miles. I was beat, thank goodness it was in a Lincoln Town car.

Current mileage on our shop truck

Ok I'll play. Here is a pic from a few years ago of our parts delivery truck odometer the day they sold it for scrap. 1999-2000 ish Ford F250 with a stake bed. 5.4 2 valve. City highway use all day every day. Finally broke a timing chain and tranny went out. Impressive Mod motor mileage though...

    2020 F450 6.7L oil

Thank you for the awesome input ToadU! I must admit I did change the factory fill at 2000 miles and went with Motorcraft 15W40. I will run that out much longer of course and feel much better with the 40 weight in it with the Texas heat coming soon. Nice looking rig by the way!
