It looks like SuperTech is in trouble

I noticed the same thing a few weeks ago; went in to buy some Supertech and Quaker State was basically the same price. Hmmm... generic Wally-World mystery oil or wholesome Pennsylvania goodness. The oil on the shelf at Wally-World is owned by Quaker State, I would guess that they have sales...

    2017 Honda Pilot ATF Experience

Forgot to mention, the transmission definitely shifts different since the software update. Even my wife noticed it, which says a lot as normally the only thing she would notice is that the Bluetooth isn't connecting or possibly if there is a hole in the floorpan.... maybe.. probably not.

    2017 Honda Pilot ATF Experience

Okay don't laugh - I pretty much forgot the "maintenance minder" even existed. After I read your post I did vaguely recall possibly seeing an "E3" code but ignored it. I'm used to looking at the maintenance schedule in the owners manual or online and following it. So where did I get the 90k...

    2017 Honda Pilot ATF Experience

Oops, I meant 5 speed. My F150 has the 6R80 tranny in it. It was a "sitting at home bored during first month of the pandemic internet purchase". Good idea, I'll see if I can use my oil pump to do the same... After looking at that ATF fluid comparison chart, I think I'm going to just stick w/...

    2017 Honda Pilot ATF Experience

    >>He probably has the 6 speed. The 9 speed was an option then. Yes, my Pilot has the 6 speed, my wife's has the 4 speed. I'm just going to start drain and filling the ATF every other oil change. It's not that expensive and will only add about 5 minutes to the process. I noticed the Eenos...

    2017 Honda Pilot ATF Experience

This is just a quick write up of an issue I just experienced with my 2017 Honda Pilot for those of you out there who may own one. I've found several folks online describing the exact same problem however the diagnosis seem to be all over the place. A few months ago when my Pilot had about 45k...

    Leaking NAPA Gold Oil Filter

That's probably what happened. I'm guessing I over tightened it even though I only did it by hand.

    Leaking NAPA Gold Oil Filter

Okay folks, my apologies. I just looked at the box and it was not a NAPA Gold it is a NAPA Platinum 47502. Just checked the truck again and there aren't any drips.

    Leaking NAPA Gold Oil Filter

Possible, but I put it on by hand and didn't use a wrench until I tried to fix it. Tightening it didn't solve the issue, but maybe over tightening was the issue because I only got about an additional 1/8th of a turn out of it. I wish I would have kept the filter for further examination but it...

    Who remembers Green GC 0w-30?

I haven't logged in here in YEARS... many years that I remember. I was running the German Castrol 0W-30 in my BMW Z3 back around 2005 when it was all the rage on BITOG. So does anyone know what happened to it? Did they stop making it? It was like the Holy Grail of Oil back then, I might have a...

Scored a great deal on Amazon, but feel guilty about it

I had this happen with Amazon and a Champion Inverter Generator. The first one had a minor issue so I called Champion and they wanted me to take it to the authorized service center, have them assess it, and THEN they would call me regarding what they would do/cover to fix it. Annoyed, I called...

    Leaking NAPA Gold Oil Filter

I've been using the NAPA Gold filters for a while on most of our vehicles. I generally order them online and pick them up or bundle them in with a larger order and have the NAPA delivery truck drop the order off at the house. The last few I ordered all had a little rust on the threaded plate...

    Westinghouse iGen 4500 Generator

Folks, Haven't posted here in about ten years but I'm back and have a quesiton. We recently purchased a Westinghouse iGen 4500 inverter generator for use as an emergency backup for our house. As many others do, we have a good amount of food packed away in the freezer so we don't need to visit...

    my first time...

I got to drive my Z3 today after work to the vet to pick up PRESCRIPTION CAT FOOD for the resident fuzzy person. I am truly amazed, the car really does have more zip. However, I am beginning to wonder if simply going to the lighter 0w-30 from the 0w-40 is what made the difference. Anyway, for...

    my first time...

This past Sunday, I used GC for the first time in my BMW Z3 1.9L. I must admit I really didn't expect to notice a difference in the vehicle. Normally I have been using Mobil 1 0w-40 for the past few years and sort of figured all theGC craziness on here was hype. For example (but DEFINITELY not...
