    Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 4.2k mi; 2022 WRX FA24 28.2k mi - used oil analysis

Can't disagree there, kirkland acquitted itself well when I used it.

    Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 4.2k mi; 2022 WRX FA24 28.2k mi - used oil analysis

The ESP is a euro spec oil so it starts out at 12.0cst, some fuel dilution and carry over oil from the last change should account for the reading on the report. So pretty middle of the road for 30 weight at 10.6 it starts heavy for 30

    Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 4.2k mi; 2022 WRX FA24 28.2k mi - used oil analysis

The reduction in fuel dilution may just be a change in driving habits, less stop and go traffic and lighter on the pedal. The silicon is just regular downtrending I believe, the car actually had an aftermarket intake and high flow cone filter for the 2nd half of this interval so it's good to see...

    Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 4.2k mi; 2022 WRX FA24 28.2k mi - used oil analysis

Here's the latest report for my WRX, this interval was almost exactly 6 months through "winter" here in west Texas. This interval was mostly daily driving to and from work with 2 autocross days thrown in. Car is stock and driven relatively conservatively with the occasional full-throttle pull...

Mixing ESP 0W-30 and Mobil 1 ESP 0w20 and do a VOA

Not much, the main intent was to see if use the shear stable qualities of ESP with the mix to achieve something that would maintain a viscosity at the top of the 0w20 (as called for by the manufacturer) range through an oil change interval with some of the fuel dilution that is inherent in the...

Mixing ESP 0W-30 and Mobil 1 ESP 0w20 and do a VOA

I recently ran an experiment mixing 0W20 and 0W30 ESP at a 50/50 ratio in my two Subaru FA24s. The calculated starting viscosity was in the ~9.6cst range, I did not run a VOA but here are my used oil analysis: Outback WRX

    2022 Subaru WRX FA24DIT; Mobil 1 ESP 0w20/0w30 mix ; 3500mi

I'm reading that as whatever method they tested at it, the amount was inconsequential enough (<1%) that an enumeration was not necessary. Good question though, I'll shoot an email to ask about it.

    2022 Subaru WRX FA24DIT; Mobil 1 ESP 0w20/0w30 mix ; 3500mi

Don't plan to do any more mixing in the future, thanks for the advice.

    2022 Subaru WRX FA24DIT; Mobil 1 ESP 0w20/0w30 mix ; 3500mi

These engines don't seem to mind 0W20 from what I've seen, but they do tend to lose quite a bit of viscosity either due to fuel dilution or shear. I haven't seen any 'bad' used oil analysis because of that viscosity loss, but I've been lurking around BITOG long enough to have developed a...

    2022 Subaru WRX FA24DIT; Mobil 1 ESP 0w20/0w30 mix ; 3500mi

I moved to just straight Mobil 1 ESP 0W30, with the addition of more possible autocross days I figured the bump in viscosity/HTHS wouldn't be a bad thing.

    2022 Subaru WRX FA24DIT; Mobil 1 ESP 0w20/0w30 mix ; 3500mi

This is my latest oil report for my WRX, I've had this car since new and have done 3k oil changes since the start after the 1k break-in oil came out. Those changes have been mainly Kirkland with a few changes having been Valvoline Valvoline Restore and Protect. The two other reports on the list...

    2023 Subaru Outback XT FA24F; Mobil 1 0w20 / 0w30 mix ; 3189mi

Oil report for my new-to-me 2023 Outback, this was a 50/50 mix of ESP 0w20 and 0w30. The intent was to get a viscosity that would dilute/shear to into 20 grade instead of below like a lot of other oils have seemed to do over on the outback forums within 3k miles. The car is mostly used for kid...
