Steering rack bushings. 1st gen Toyota Sequoia

Thinking about this had me curious enough to get the Import Direct kit from oreilly and changed them out today. Same problem persists. I’m wondering if taking it to the dealer for alignment might help rather than the chain tire shop. Les Schwab is where I had it aligned. These bushing have a...

Overactive VSC on 2005 Toyota Sequoia

Well that sucks! Thinking about this had me curious enough to get the Import Direct kit from oreilly and changed them out today. Same problem persists. I’m wondering if taking it to the dealer for alignment might help rather than the chain tire shop. Les Schwab is where I had it aligned. These...

Overactive VSC on 2005 Toyota Sequoia

No progress. Googling this again brought up my own post. Read live data and don’t see any wheel speed sensors dropping out or anything weird. Steering angle reads smoothly lock to lock. Yaw and acceleration rate sensors seem to read in accordance with what’s going on but I don’t know what...

Steering rack bushings. 1st gen Toyota Sequoia

Just an update… no progress. I’ve read wheel speed sensor data and everything and don’t see them dropping out or anything. Removed the sensors and cleaned to make sure nothing impeding the readings. Alignment was done. The stability control is still way overactive around dry corners. I can be...

Is there a recommended high mileage / seal additive for transmission & steering fluid?

Only seal conditioner I’ve used with success is ATP AT205. Used it as directed and a good example is my 69 Ford. Used to leave puddles of trans and engine oils after sitting a month or so. Not bone dry or anything but barely leaves drops. Worked well in a few other vehicles without any problems.

What Chemical to Clean Foam Cannon Pellet

What part is called a pellet? Anyway I’m thinking ultrasonic cleaner with hot water and a bit of degreaser for the buildup. I’ve never done maintenance on mine but replacing o ring at the inlet.

Installed New P/S Pump = Stiff Steering at Low Speeds

I think I have a $20 credit at the Zone. Might have to give it a try.

Installed New P/S Pump = Stiff Steering at Low Speeds

Our only Honda is a 99 accord. Its steering is already smooth and I did a flush a couple years ago. Does the lubegard improve it if it’s already feeling fine?

    Brown tire "blooming"

Scrub with whatever your favorite degreaser or all purpose cleaner is. Rinse, repeat until the rinse water is clear. Might take a few rounds. Let the tires dry, then use a water based dressing if you’d like. Meguiars hyper dressing or chemical guys VRP are a couple I like.

Back with another headlight restoration thread.

Wet sand 600 to clean clear plastic and spray a 2k clear. No higher grit needed, no polishing. Lasts for many years.

    Quick headlight restoration?

What didn’t work with 600? I have power sanders but usually headlights are shaped where it doesn’t make sense to use them and I just wet sand by hand. If you don’t sand through the old coating and just rough them up and spray, they’ll look a lot better but won’t have that crystal clear look to...

    Meguiars headlight coating

Wet sand headlights with 600 grit to clean clear plastic and spray a 2k clear. Done. Pretty permanent and looks great. No need to sand higher than 600 because the clear fills 600 scratch no problem.

Review: Gabriel Ultra ReadyMount Complete Strut Assembly on 2015 Toyota RAV4

I’ve used Gabriel ultra readymount struts on a couple different vehicles and ultra shocks on several more. Always been pretty happy with them. I have KYB on my Honda accord and Toyota Tacoma but didn’t want as firm a ride for the sequoia so I used Gabriel.

Overactive VSC on 2005 Toyota Sequoia

I’ll have to search. We’re in Crescent City, way up by the Oregon border. The closest dealers are at least 1.5 hour drives in one direction or the other. An independent specialist would be great. I’d just like this to handle properly through the curves.

Overactive VSC on 2005 Toyota Sequoia

Speed sensors seem to be ok but I’ll have to have someone else drive through the corners where it acts up so I can watch the scanner. It’s hard to say how much they affect body roll. Definitely firmed up the ride in the back but got rid of the sag. I tow quite a bit and the rear is soft on...
