What is with the lack of 100% synthetic oil filters? Was Fram the only one making them?

The cost got alot lower on them as well when they switched suppliers in Canada at least, quality for less is very welcome these days lol

In this day and age - are any oil filters terrible?

They were a basic Fram filter for years, work no worse than one of them (for a much better price). PGI has the contract now. I've spun many a Motomasters on older cars. As for bad filters, I got a Carquest 84674 a couple years ago that just about collapsed in the sump in about 2600km, pretty...

Certified Oil Filter - Canadian Tire

These are generally Fram's Defense line sold under Canadian Tires label. They are fine to use for regular intervals, have had some with paint peeling issues but usually not E core ones like this. Not sure who the new supplier will be I suspect PGI.

Old Napa Stock, New Wix 57674

Saw these the other week, figured you all might find this interesting. Surprised they are still kicking around. You can clearly see the Napa number crossed out by the sharpie, box is a different style from the usual Wix of this number as well. Not old enough to still be their Polish supplier...

Apple Neo - welcome to the Dark Side

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet but on the non replaceable batteries. The little economy "Neo" Macbook is a new leaf, they just screw it into the chassis like any other laptop, not a glued array of iPhone batteries like the M series macs. The modern iPhones are generally easier to...

Fram Endurance VS Carquest EP Synthetic

They are quite a nice filter as well yeah, in the Korean Ecotec Variety (CAS10246) they are however $20 CAD 😂 Which I am trying to avoid. The Castrols are sourced from Gki who I am guessing source similar to premium guard.

How much longer should I be able to play games on this laptop?

Good hardware 12th gen Intel was a pretty big step up. Being a gaming computer though they are somewhat unreliable if not maintained. I would clean it frequently, they run hot as is some dust blockage and they cook themselves alive, I see it all the time.

Fram Endurance VS Carquest EP Synthetic

The EP version? Wonder if he is west coat they may have more of a market there. We get the reds and the blues but that is as fancy as it gets.

Fram Endurance VS Carquest EP Synthetic

Be neat if they brought either of these to Canada. Yet to see a Carquest up here offer these.

    Motomaster/Champ Pentastar oil filter

The website is a crapshoot the Co-Star software in store (while not perfect) is generally alot better. I also find partsource to have a better website accuracy wise and usually if Canadian Tire carries the item the SKU (usually xxx-xxxx) is the same since they are all the same company.

    Motomaster/Champ Pentastar oil filter

If it is the later style filter in the pentastar. (Cathedral looking plastic on the end lf it) you can get the Mopar Genuine ones from Canadian Tire. Champ no longer exists so as they sell through existing stock you might have a hard time finding them, although they also work fine.

    First Brands (Fram) bankruptcy

Yea Wix's supply in Canada got wiped in like a week lol. I'm not corporate level but locally alot of stores (Canadian Tire) are looking for 3rd party vendors to fill demand in the garage. One of the contenders are the pure branded "Pronto" PG filters but we'll see. The Motomaster filters are...

    Rough Napa Gold 7674

Nope it's a standard Dorman HELP! Oem replacement. Hails from China. GM OEM plugs for this application hail from Germany, same weird torx head though.

    Rough Napa Gold 7674

I'm actually up in Canada, so they were never sold here. There was a shipment of extra guards that came about a year ago that actually contained these. This was the last of my little stockpile. I've actually got a hengst to go in it next 😉. $5 on RA is a good deal on them, locally they go for...

    First Brands (Fram) bankruptcy

Surely someone will buy the FRAM name once the company fully declares chapter 7. They've been a huge name in the automotive sector for a decade short of a century, would be kind of nuts to never see an orange can again.
