Fram Endurance / Walmart End of Life ?

It’s not the seating of the plastic valve itself…. It’s the seating of the spring plate as it sits on the filter top that has shown gaps using a flashlight. For me, it’s a nothing burger…but for most here it’s “catastrophic”. The final test is what’s in the used oil…and you’ve demonstrated...

But the Bypass Gap is there!! 😉 I’ll continue to use the Endurance for the results stated with 100% confidence.

Ironic that it sits on top of a Fram Was it an Endurance or Ultra @ 99% 20 microns? Lol

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

Any links? Thanks Ok I just found this: “I have a 2018 Hyundai Sonata. I started to burn oil around 95,000 miles. I had 3 oil consumption tests. First one said I was not excessively burning oil. Kept an eye on it and the problem proceeded to get worse. Took it for another test abd it failed...

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

Just for the record I had 2012 Sonata (Theta II) bought new and traded in at 133K mi in 2024. No significant issues with oil consumption or rod bearing failure. Used Synthetic ( Pennzoil Ultra) and premium filters the entire time. Having said that , I m hoping Valvoline R&P with Fram...

Fram Endurance every other OCI vs Microgard Select every OCI on Hondas?

#110 Glenda maintained the color of the bypass in lower pic was was not orange.

Fram Endurance every other OCI vs Microgard Select every OCI on Hondas?

It’s supposed to be the same filter in BOTH photos. That’s why I was puzzled…still am.🤷

Fram Endurance every other OCI vs Microgard Select every OCI on Hondas?

Ok thanks It’s hard to see leaf spring….that’s what’s confusing. Also, valve appears orange there but black in previous pic? In that one (black valve) it’s what I would expect, since oil would be there normally 🤷. Are those actual pics of her filter or different pics of two different filters...

Fram Endurance every other OCI vs Microgard Select every OCI on Hondas?

I’m confused on lower pic with crud. Looks like top inside of can and what looks like the bottom head of bypass (orange)??

Fram Endurance every other OCI vs Microgard Select every OCI on Hondas?

It can be a bit tortuous on logistics, But it does appear they made claims for specific FE models and then extended this claim (bootstrapped) to all other FE models that are TG/EG equivalents in cases where the same ISO threshold of 99%/20mu was met. Here’s TG statement…same approach ...

Fram Endurance every other OCI vs Microgard Select every OCI on Hondas?

*FRAM Group testing of average filter efficiency of FE8A, FE3387A and FE4967 or equivalent FRAM TG or EG models under ISO 4548-12 for particles greater than 20 microns “I’m starting to interpret this as ….They actually tested those specific FE models listed and extended it to all other FE...

Fram Endurance every other OCI vs Microgard Select every OCI on Hondas?

No argument there. We go back to …”it begs the question”…. Does this flaw hobble performance enough to make a difference? Does it knock it out of “first place” in particle filtration? So far I’ve seen no “Prima facie evidence” that supports that. None. The only scant testing we have (BR) says...
