Thanks, I'm a mechanical. I work at a coal fired plant here in Louisville that's fully scrubbed with 3 active '60's era units. It's funny you mention boilermakers. I'm a certified welding inspector and most of my work at the plant is welding related (boilers, pressure vessels, piping, etc.). I'm...
I got heavy into autocrossing my Camaro from 2004-2006 then backed off when I got married in 2007, bought a house, and finished my masters in engineering all while working at a power plant full time. ... that left me with little time, but things have slowed down a little bit lately.
I'm glad to...

I got this car for free with a blown headgasket and warped head from my father in law at 151K miles. He was about to trade it in on a new car when it blew the gasket. Anyways I did 3 oil changes after the job to remove...
You guys realize that engine oil temp and coolant temperature are not always directly related. It's possible for the coolant temp to remain normal while cooking engine oil. You need to have serperate indications on each.

Mileage isn't always indicative of use either. I managed to basically use up German Castrol in less than a 1000 miles from autocross use in my own LT1 Camaro.
I had the analysis posted a while back somewhere.
A lot of cars that have been autocrossed won't make it this far because of oil starvation-I know of a couple LT1's that blew up b/c of that. I'd say this car has done pretty ****ed well. This car has been driven hard and last I heard still runs solid 13's in the 1/4 with a stock motor.
Yes 325K miles on the car-never rebuilt LT1 engine. Her car is rock solid. She drives it all over to autocross events since she got it in '96.
I just asked her how long it's been run on mobil 1 and how much autocross use is on that sample. I'm sure it has some.

This isn't my car it's Karen Kraus's car. She's a very talented autocrosser and finished 8th last year on F-Stock at...
Yeah, the wear is high for 800 miles but the car did have unusual use. That's why I paid the extra money for Terry. I think I'm going to find way to put a paper air filter on my K&N intake to fix that silica.
I also had mentioned on the report that I took the sample from the bottom of the pan...
Here's my oil analysis results. I used the German Castrol 0w30 with a shorty supertech filter. I still have this oil in the car. There are only 800 miles on the sample but over 100 autocross runs (some of which are evolution schools with hot-lapping). I'm trying to establish and interval based...
