Computer people debate this all the time. Do you leave it on forever or only plug in as needed.
In my experience over years, the power cycling tends to have more more of an effect on a device than the constant power.
But, if you don't use it for a couple of months, do you really need it on...
Toyota guy here. That is super bad.
Anything you do is not the right answer. If you clean it yourself, you knock a bunch of dirt around. If you run an engine clean through it, you knock dirt around.
I would but another head on it this point, or just change the oil every 1000 miles and pray.
That is what I was thinking based on my old school thinking. Also, if it is a 2-3 twin fire system, how does it know #2 is the problem?
I changed the plugs just now and had a drive. Immediate feeling is great. The idle is more smooth and I can feel more advance timing because it really zips...
Many older lexus vehicles here. Usually one side goes bad. If nothing works at all, I would suspect a power issue.
Worst case scenario, if you have a wiring diagram, you can supply manual power to move it into the position you want and leave it there.
