Just thought I'd post this link here in case someone else is interested:

It's highly unlikely this is related, however... Back in my German auto parts days, when synths started showing up on the scene, a lot of guys with older, high mileage cars, thinks 70s and 80s Porsches and BMWs, started having problems with leaking seals, where they had none before. It was...

Bonz is this version correct???
While we're at it, that image is a little fuzzy, is this correct?

Clearly no amount of discussion is enough for us to convince you otherwise from the last thread you started, the to abundance of info already posted on this forum.
Wait, what? It's...
This is for the Yamaha Roadstar 1700cc air cooled V-Twin and I have three choices available to me, but none are ideal. So which would you use?
First, due to the flat tappet cams, I need an oil with at least 1200 PPM ZDDP. Also, I'd Ideally like a JASO rated oil for the wet clutch that shares...
Unfortunately they stopped making these a few years ago, and there's no one left at Yamaha Corporate who knows anything about them. I called them on a number of occasions to no avail. And even worse, since there are so few in the wild, and so different compared to other Yamahas, the dealers...
Good info Bonz, thx for clarifying that. [Nice bike BTW]
I found my other local Oreilly's had T6 5w40 for $22.99 [plus a $7 rebate]. Any problems with that over the 15w40 T6? [or 5w40 T5] It does show JASO rated on the bottle, which makes me feel a little better, and from what I understand...
Thanks for all the info guys. And thanks BLS for the oil report on the 1800, but to be pedantic, that says 1800 V-twin Goldwing, and there is no such beast. It's either a VTX 1800 V-twin or a Goldwing 1800 flat six... But I'm just busting your cajonies. Thanks again.
Right now O'Reilly Auto...
BTW... Which Rotella are you referring to the 15w40?
And my Reason for concern is the Roadstar [R*] clutch slip due to weakening stock spring is as certain as death and taxes. I've owned two and had to replace the clutch spring in both at around 25-30k miles. I also know of countless of other...
