OK, just mowed for about 1 1/2 hours. Once done, the temp at the back top of the oil filter (near the grip stuff) was 225 degrees. As I suspected, the grip stuff temp was a little lower at 215 degrees. Closer to the engine was also about 215 degrees. This will be my baseline info so now I...

I just measured my 3614, I have a little under 2" of filter body b4 I get to the textured "grip" material. The 100mm would be too long. Th 80 mm would extend the whole filter basically. I don't know if the grip material would hurt the cooling process as it might act as an insulation? The 66...

I found the same style unit, this one is another 14mm in length. Price is better. There is also a 100 mm (almost 4") long available as well. That might work better for the Fram 3600 filter...

I also found this type of bolt on cooler.. it goes around the oil filter itself. This is an "easy install". Do you think it would actually do any good? I guess it is better than nothing though...
