CK-4 Diesel Oil for old 6.0l PowerStroke?

Once more, a 10w-30 is what you want to use in this engine, there isn't any need for a synthetic. I have over 350,000 mi. In a 6.0, and UOA data from every OC that we're run out to 7,500 mi. Intervals to prove my point. There were multiple times cold soak starts happened at -40, no issues, no...

CK-4 Diesel Oil for old 6.0l PowerStroke?

I ran a couple 6.0's for a combined 350,000 mi. And had the best UOA,s with 10w-30 John Deere Plus 50, which was ran exclusively in the ,07 6.0 after 75,000 mi. My climate is similar to yours, I,ve had to cold start at -40 and ran loaded at +90f through the summers without issue. The 6.0 prefers...

    2014 6.7 Powerstroke oil

With the 6.7 having an IOLM it has been proven time and again through UOA that 0% IOLM is conservative. Just relax and drive.

If idle is to be avoided?

My wife drives an F150 with the 3.0 PowerStroke diesel which does have the auto start/stop. The glow plugs only cycle during cold-starts, so that isn't an issue. The battery is an AGM, so battery is sized for application, the starter and other engine components are up for debate as far as...

10W-30 in new Super Duty Diesel? Not compatible with B5-B20

My experience with diesel and 10w-30 can be traced back to my ‘07 6.0 PowerStroke. The rage at the time was 5w-40, I had made 3 consecutive runs with the Shell variant available at the time. Three consecutive UOA's showed higher wear numbers vs. the previously used 15w-40. I then went to...

10W-30 in new Super Duty Diesel? Not compatible with B5-B20

My point is you can run the IOLM to 0% with a conventional 10w-30 and still have plenty of reserve. Most posts I have read here and elsewhere owners refuse to trust the IOLM and dump early at some arbitrary mileage, run a syn "because its better". Show me evidence as I'm a realist.

10W-30 in new Super Duty Diesel? Not compatible with B5-B20

There's no difference between the viscosity's listed in OCI, just follow the IOLM. I doubt your locale has much if any bio blend fuel this time of the year as its the first to gel.
