I'm running the Toyota OEM filter on my 2024 Rav4 (same engine as in both your cars). I get them at the local dealership for less than similar filters from Walmart. They also throw in a new oil plug crush washer.
I change oil and filter every 5000 miles and the oil looks rather clean still. I'm...
My 2010 Town & Country 3.8L (130K miles) drank Mobil1 (1qt/1000 miles). Oil consumption was cut in half by switching to Castrol Edge.
If I still had it, I would try Valvoline Restore and Protect, but it went to new owners a few years before Valvoline Restore and Protect existed.
Some users have reported increased oil use on the first one or two intervals of Valvoline Restore and Protect before consumption lessons. Nobody is sure why it happens, but the consensus is to stick with Valvoline Restore and Protect and consumption eventually lessons during later oil change...

Since switching my Kendon single motorcycle trailer to the Traveler Marine & Off Road grease from Tractor Supply, I have towed the motorcycle trailer over 2000 miles at interstate freeway speeds.
I checked the hubs with my hand at each fuel stop and they were cool to the touch...
That's basically what I do. I have the little EU2000i inverter generator that I mainly use. I have a 30 amp inlet on my house going to a 6 circuit sub panel that I can switch from Line to Generator. It powers only the essentials. It works like a champ.
If I need to do laundry during a power...
At the moment, I'm using Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 in my generators and lawnmower. The generators pull-start easier in the Michigan winters than a 10W-40.
In Texas, a 5W-40 or 10W-40 should work well.
Personal experience with TDT 5W-40... My lawnmower got all clogged up with grass...
I always do early oil changes to get rid of the break-in glitter. All my motorcycles had it. My 4Runner had some visible in the pleats of the cartridge filter. My CR-V and Rav4 did not have anything visible.
Interesting information.... My motorcycles had this same glitter at their first change...
My Honda GCV160 motor had a bunch of silver glitter in it after the first hour. I did a few more oil changes every 5 hours or so until the glitter stopped later that first summer, then went to annual changes for a few years. For the past 16 years I've changed it every couple of years and it...
I've done it in my cars that recommend 0W-20. I haven't had any discernable issues.
Why not just dump the whole jug of 0W-20 in and top off with the 5W-30 for one oil change and be done?
