There are many of these Toyotas with the A25A accruing high mileage on 0W-16. That platform came out in 2018. I haven't read much about any fuel dilution issues with this engine.
I recently purchased a 2024 gasoline RAV4 with the same A25A engine as the Camry that also recommends 0W-16. I'm a...
Right, it switches between the injectors based on load, RPM, etc. But... the sound I am describing relates to startup, the direct injectors are active for about 10-20 seconds or so and then they turn off. When I was changing my oil, I could hear them clacking away and then abruptly go silent...
The diesel-like clattering is the direct injectors clicking away (A25A-FKS engine). They are active when the RAV4 first starts, then shut off after the engine has idled for a short while. I was surprised at the noise as well until I saw a few YouTube videos describing how the engine switches...
I use both. Every time.
They teach this in MSF classes and it greatly reduces your stopping distance in an emergency.
Then I keep my right foot on the rear brake and left foot down at the stop sign.
2012 Honda ST1300A
35K+ miles, 4500 miles on oil
Out: Valvoline Syn 4T 10W-40, Mobil1 M1-110A filter
In: Valvoline Syn 4T 10W-40, Purolator Boss 14610 filter
I use the same oil filter as my Honda CR-V on both my Honda motorcycles. No issues.
Pennzoil Platinum... Buy two 5-qt jugs and get a $25 gift card. Good deal. Made by Shell, who also makes Rotella.
Check out the Pennzoil website for the promotion.
Take it for a longer drive every few months to get everything up to temperature. I'd probably change the oil every couple of years.
I've been changing the oil and filter in my daughter's 06 Cobalt every couple of years. She only puts about 3000 miles on it between oil changes. Mostly short...
I have a Troybuilt with a Honda GCV160. It's over 15yrs old with about 500 hours. I've replaced wheels and other parts of the deck hardware, but the engine keeps on running. Starts right up, no smoke and doesn't use any oil.
Oil has been a few ounces of drip oil left over from empty bottles...
My old 80's motorcycles spec'd ATF. My more current motorcycles spec Honda fork oil of a specific viscosity. What's the difference? Dunno? But, for the small amount that is required, I'll just buy the branded fork oil and move on.
I've been looking at swapping in some new progressive springs...
I did a spill & fill on my '19 4Runner on the 5Ks. I took it in for the free inspection and oil changes on the 10Ks. I though it all worked great until they cross threaded the bolts on the skid plates. That was the last dealer service oil change for the 4Runner.
I use Mobil1 synthetic 75-90 gear oil in the final drive of my Honda ST1300. The manual says 20K mile change interval. I usually change it every other oil change, since I have the pan and tools already out.
My 2009 Town & Country with the 3.8 burned/used Mobil 1. I switched to Castrol Edge and oil consumption was cut in half.
Bought it new and it used oil from the start. I used Mobil 1 5W-20 until about 80K miles. Consumed about 1qt per 1000 miles. Switched to Castrol Edge 5W-20 and it went to...
