Most of what I'm reading says no on the sealant too. I really dont have the extra 2500 laying around right now and not sure if this is a job I could do myself...

Ok guys, so I got some bad news and just wanted some advice on this. The 09 camry started smoking (white) and smelled sweet. I had my mechanic look at it and it is a blown head gasket. Misfire codes P0302 and P303. Question is, should I even try putting a sealant in there or bite the bullet...

Jumping back into this old thread here. I had the exhaust system addressed. It wasn't the cat thankfully and with a new resonator in place it sounds great. I do have a question for anyone here as far as the oil consumption is concerned. So far the consumption is still at a minimal rate...

Yeah, it sounds like it. I did see a video where a guy discovered it was the O2 sensor that was rattling which made the cat sound bad. I really don't want to have to replace it but that sound is driving me crazy. It's not as bad once the car is warmed up but still..

Put maybe another 500 miles on it and still no oil loss. Right now trying to figure out a random rattle noise coming from the first catalytic converter. Might need to take it in and get it on a rack to figure out exactly what that is. I can tap on it and duplicate the sound. No codes or...

Well I hit 1000 miles on her car. No oil loss at all.

I found the culprit. The junky pcv hose I got from amazon was flattening out and causing all that noise. Looking now for a more rigid one to avoid this trouble down the road. Thanks for the advice mike!

maybe i should stop at autozone today and see what they have as far as a replacement pcv valve

the one that was on prior to the soak was oem (or at least amazon said so). I had a spare that came with a hose i needed after the original cracked when i took it off. I went ahead and put that junky spare on one last night to see how it would do today. maybe made it worse ha..
