Suggest pads for a mk7 GTI

Ugh. Not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping someone would tell me they put Element3 on their GTI and they fit/work great. I used them my Mustang circa 2018 and was really happy with them. That said, the OEM Ford pad they replaced was very mild-mannered. The OEM pads on my GTI not only throw...

Suggest pads for a mk7 GTI

FMSI fitments D1633 front; D1108 rear. This is for the "performance pack" brake system with 340/310mm rotors. I'm looking for a low dust formulation with at least OEM bite/feel. No track days or mountainous driving (I live in Florida and the only time our rotors glow red is when Floridaman is...

Valvoline DCT fluid in Mustang MT-82

I've tried three different lubes in the MT82. Nothing worked any better than the factory fill, unfortunately. Mine was a 2014, made after Ford switched to the thinner fluid.

how do you figure out what grease is in something?

I checked the mfr docs (Dexter Axle).. Apparently they've standardized on lithium complex for everything. I'm good to go now. :-)

how do you figure out what grease is in something?

I'm facing this too. Just bought a trailer; nice setup with a zerk fitting; no idea what kind of grease is in there now. I'm hearing that shear-stable polyurea greases are known as the "O+ donors" of the grease world but I'm still a bit hesitant.

The V6 and the professional 7506 have both been counterfeited. Be careful when dealing with unknown sellers, FYI.

Yes, many things in France are cheaper. Gasoline is not one of them. :-(

Regarding oil prices... The only "everyday" oil on the shelf here is 15W-40 HDMO and it runs 4-5 dollars per liter. Everything else is more expensive and is semi-synth or fully synth. At service stations, it's common to see high-spec oils at $25 per liter. It's all 40 weight, too -- 10W-40...

1 CHF is 1 USD at the moment. http://www.123pneus.ch/huile_de_moteur.html Retail prices seem to be even higher.

US car in Europe - filters and stuff!

Interesting. I found an oil filter discussion thread on an S2000 forum. It looks like a number of those 15400 oil filters are interchangeable. The S2000 MANN filter is a W610/6, the same filter used on the Jazz and it looks just like the 15400-PCX. That S2000 forum thread indicates that the...
