    Mobil 1 Lithium spray equivalent

I would post the question on the Firearms cleaners etc. forum further down and get some opinions. I don't use any sprays except for my stockpile of Mobil 1, so I am of no help there. Otherwise maybe a bicycle website, they are pretty picky about lubes and were happy about the Mobil 1.

    Mobil 1 Lithium spray equivalent

I was not aware that there was Mobil 1 spray grease. I know there was Mobil 1 spray oil that was discontinued in the last year or so.

    THINGS ABOUT GREASE

Mobilgrease 28 I can tell you that Mobilgrease 28 is neither gunk nor cheap. In fact it's $16 per tube.

Need a pump to remove PS fluid

They sell manual suction pumps for about $10 at your local auto parts. It looks like a grease gun with no lever and a pull handle at the end. I use that because the neck of my PS res is too narrow to fit a baster (somebody at Ford probably did that on purpose . . .)

Stipping paint off Ceramic Coated header. Suggestions?

Brake fluid will take off some kinds of paint, won't touch others. If after a couple hours you scrape it and at least some of the paint has not softened, you should try a more aggressive stripper. Paint stripper, that is. I get stripper for free from the city hazardous waste drop off, you are...

Synthetic gun oil / motor oil... am I CRAZY??

Grease works fine on rails, I use Mobil 1, any synthetic grease will be fine. Of course it would be best to test fire the weapon to make sure it does not hang up. Synthetic motor oil is fine for general lube, certainly a lot better than Hoppes or whatever $2 little bottle. I wonder how much R&D...

    2002 Ford Explorer trans

I think a consumer revolt agains this idiocy is in order. I for one if shown an automobile without a dipstick will walk away. How many people would buy a home PC, for example, with a sealed and unopenable case?

    24 Month Brake Fluid Flush

Yes it will. Or it will help. That's what the anticorrosive additives are for. And they wear out.

    2002 Ford Explorer trans

I have always figured that if it has under 70K when I buy it and it does not smell or look weird it is probably saveable. The Explorer transmission seems to have a bad reputation, but mine lasted over 205K without a hiccup and fluid changes at about 50k or so. Far as I know it is still tooling...

    24 Month Brake Fluid Flush

It is likely it would be from the breakdown of the anticorrosion additives in the fluid causing the metal to corrode. Or the fluid itself breaking down. Otherwise it would have to be that some crud is being drawn back into the system from the caliper pistons, no? In which case it would mean the...

    Brake Cleaner

Non chlorinated is supposed to be safer for your health (chlorinated is definitely not good for you) but I am not so sure that it is better but rather bad in a different way.

Mag-Hytec Rearend Diff. Cover Lube Level for '03 Dodge/Cummins, 3500

Although this is not your application, I topped off the rear on my F150 with 80W90 synthetic slightly below the plug, which seems to be about 1/2 quart more than factory fill (despite what the manual says), and now it is weeping from the end of the axle tube on the left side. Just a drop or two...

Why do people haze out license plates in pics?

Back way back when some relatives were driving a car they had brought over from the Canal Zone in Panama (this was when things were very sore over the Canal Treaty) and since it still had Panama plates, apparently some wise@#$ decided it would be fun to call it in as stolen. Thing is, the first...
