    I don't think M1 0w20 came out of the ground.... 👽

    new oil age

Since my son is moving to Philadelphia next month for the next 3 years, I decided to add 2 qts to the existing saved 3 qts and use it for my wife's 2014 Outback oil change. The last oil change on the Outback was done 30 May 2021 and has been driven only 3K miles since. The short amount of miles...

Stored in a capped jug in a garage which sees high temps in the summer. Thanks for the response.

    new oil age

My son's car takes 4.4 qts of M1 0w/20. From the 5 qt container used We've been saving 0.6 qts over the last 5 changes which means that I have 3 qts stowed away (3 years worth?). Is this oil still good to use? I suspect it is. Thanks!!!

    oil change time interval

Considering the perceived knowledge and experience levels of the forum participants, I would have to say that the "guesses" would have to be considered as "educated guesses". There is a difference....

    oil change time interval

Thanks for the responses! A YEAR IT IS! I just changed the oil in my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. In the past 6 months it has gone 5k miles with 90% city driving. It's a GDI engine which IMHO is a complicating factor with regard to oil integrity..

    oil change time interval

I did searching on my question and didn't come up with the specific answer to my question. Sorry if my search wasn't deep enough! But here is my question: My 2014 Subaru Outback has been driven mostly in town for 1600 miles during the past 6 months. Practically speaking Is there really a need to...

    Engine Damage caused from 0W20/5W20?

I am currently and have been on several automotive forums. There are commonalities among them all. You have the experts and the ignorant, the trolls and the gullible, the truthful and the untruthful, the trouble makers and the seekers of peace. I learn from them all....

    Engine Damage caused from 0W20/5W20?

I AM gonna "go there". We can't have an individual storming in and dissing contributors to this thread without having the qualifications and/or technical background to do so. Maybe this individual is qualified to chew us out. I don't know. If this gets me barred from this forum, so be it!

    Engine Damage caused from 0W20/5W20?

So is it TECHNICALLY okay to use 5W30 when the politically biased/corrupted CAFE group says that we should be using 0W20? Please clarify.

    Engine Damage caused from 0W20/5W20?

I finally see where Astro14 is coming from! From my Subaru site post #38": So who knows! But using common sense, it only seems logical to use different oil weights for different climates. BOB IS THE OIL GUY and the associated site posts seem to confirm that. That's a true statement. I've done...

    Engine Damage caused from 0W20/5W20?

Before I do an oil change, I do a little research on the subject in order to see what's new or what I've missed. So I came across the subject site, found it interesting at face value and thought I'd post it for feedback's sake. It's that simple! Agree Rebuttal? I've lost you here! 🙄 Again...

    Engine Damage caused from 0W20/5W20?

Here's one of the passages: That's actually a pretty bad article. There's some obviously incorrect statements, contradictions, and an awful lot of English errors too. Those significantly hurt credibility in my eyes. Also, we need the popcorn eating emoji for these types of threads. Examples...
