    Trickle charger recommendations?

CTEK is over priced, decades of using battery minders on vehicles, MC, and OPE with no issues. Temp. compensated ones perform flawlessly in sub zero temperatures also. Mowers crank up fine in the spring for instance.

"Ethanol Free" Fuel, May Not Be

My local Fastrac has a dedicated E0 hose. The Sunoco does not.

Strange brake light behavior 2011 Impala

Fretting corrosion in the BCM connectors was an issue in '08 to '12 Malibu's for erratic brake lights. They had a recall for that. May be a possibility also in an Impala if pedal sensor does not fix it. Most likely same components were used across the lines. May have to perform a recalibration also.

Straight 30 or 15W40 for hard use air cooled small engine?

2x, pay attention to the engine when starting it after it has been parked. If there is a nest in it there will be something blowing out of it on initial startup. Maybe not a lot but something will blow out if a rats nest is in it. I've caught that a few times on my equipment. I always start up...

    Grass Bagger

I put a bagger on my JD rider. Best money I've spent. Sucks up leaves and pine needles just fine. Used to use a sweeper on a different mower in the past, no comparison to the bagger setup. Less maintenance and moving parts, sweepers wear out fast, bagger lasts years. Riding around sucking up...

    Carburetor main jet sizing

Needle jet affects mid range. I fought with a modified 2 stroke 500cc snowmobile motor that I inherited. VM carbs. Fortunately, it had exhaust temp gauges on it. It ran lean part throttle and did have some bog in it. Going up with the needle jet was my cure. Main jets affect 3/4 and up, pilot...

How do you like the driving aids in today's cars?

My '23 Silverado and my '20 Traverse has mirror tilt down option. They will revert back up after a set time if in reverse long enough. Handy for seeing curbs when parking, can be a pain when backing up trailers. It's a love / hate thing.

How do you like the driving aids in today's cars?

Auto braking got turned off in my '20 Traverse, and everyone in the fleet that has it, after it did a 15 mph hard braking for the invisible man. Did it to my wife on a dirt road in the woods. No bigfoot was sighted either. Glad there wasn't a pizza or jug of milk on the passenger seat. Rear...

How Old Is Your Lawn Mower(s)?? And How Many Hours Approximately?

1996 Craftsman BS 14.5 hp 42'' lawn tractor manual trans. Was primary mower and drug around a lawn sweeper and with a snow blade did plowing duties for 20 yrs. Moved it to weekend place after getting handed down a JD100, late '90's model manual trans. with BS power, 16 hp I think? JD brought...

Which Klotz Oil For Outdoor Power Equipment?

Been using Klotz snowmobile oil at 40:1 in my OPE for years. Oldest saw, a 1996 Crapsman saw still going strong. And it smells nice LOL.

    Consensus on battery powered OPE

Spent the winter clearing snowmobile trails of blow down with Milwaukee E saws. Good for small stuff, limbing but don't be in a hurry. Since the E saw has no clutch to slip like a gas saw they kick off the chain really easy if you're in a hurry, even with a sharp chain trying to cut up 6+ in...

    Real world pickup fuel mileage?

My '23 Silverado 1500 6.2 gets a consistent 20 mpg highway if I keep it under 70 mph. At 60 it will get 21 -22 mpg. easily. High speeds vs fuel costs to save a few minutes isn't worth it in the long haul. The '11 Tahoe 5.3 it replaced would only get 18 mpg on a good day on same roads / trips at...

Lg washing machine soap dispenser leaking

Machine level? Try raising the front some so water tends to migrate rearward into the housing. Look up inside the housing for any buildup on the nozzles where water sprays down into the cups.

Need Some HVAC Advice 2003 Suburban

I've had slipping clutches overheat the front seal on the compressor and leakage from the seal down the road. I just change compressors now.
