What to grease on an '06 Suburban Z71

Drop the front skid plate and on the inside of the pasenger side frame rail is a gear box that supports your tie rods. On top of that cast iron lump is a zerk that every quick oil change misses. I grease mine twice a year.

Old Gas powered Tractor..Need Lead Substitute?

Just remember we are talking about an engine that is below 7.5:1 com ratio. 87 octane is plenty for this engine. JUST LUV THE SOUND OF AN OLD 4 CYLINDER GAS TRACTOR.

Old Gas powered Tractor..Need Lead Substitute?

I also have classic tractor fever!! LOL For years I have added Marvel Mystery Oil to both my gas tractors (Allis-Chalmers D17 IV and a Farmall A)and these are hard woking tools I rely on. I will run Seafoam in the winter just because "I believe" it is a better choice to stabilize the gas but...

Help me pick a filter for my 5.3 and LS1

I think we are on the same page about the anoying sound that comes from these new GM engines on start up. The seafoam works best when the engine is HOT. When the truck is at idle pull the PCV valve out of the drivers side valve cover (it is back by the fire wall) and let the vacum "slurp" 8oz of...

Help me pick a filter for my 5.3 and LS1

Try the Seafoam. It will fix the start-up tick. It my come back but now you know how to fix it. The seafoam through the PCV is the only additive that has worked for me and every other Vortec that I Know of.

Help me pick a filter for my 5.3 and LS1

If it was me I would suck a half can of Seafoam through the PCV and dump the other half in the gas tank. If that dosn't quite it down then play with the filter. IMHO

Help me pick a filter for my 5.3 and LS1

Try a Baldwin filter B1432. It is my first choice for my 4.8 GMC. I order them from Shoup at 1-800-627-6137 for about $7.00 each.

Drain plug magnet is clean ????

This is a 2001 4.8L 1500 GMC P/UP with 65000 miles that I have personally changed the oil every 5000 miles. The fisrt 45000 miles the truck lived on Mobil 1 10w 30 with Wix or Baldwin filters. This truck has had a loud rattle in the valve train for as long as I can remember. So at 45000 I...

    10w30 MS - Oil ?????

Hi I just bought a restored Allis-Chalmers D17 IV GAS tractor that was made back in 1967. The operators manual calls for 10w30 engine oil. They do offer a description- "Your tractor engine should be provided with MS oil. Oil designated MS contains certain additives to increase film strengh, to...
