    2014 Volkswagen GTI 6 spd manual..your thoughts

I can only offer personal experience also. My 15-year old GTI has been bulletproof, with only normal maintenance. The only exception was the window regulators, a common problem with the MkIV and replaced by VW under warranty. I wish I could say the same for my Subaru Outback, also purchased...

    Replace tires due to age

Don't know much about tread separation but my experience with aging tires is you can tell immediately because of the traction loss, particularly in the wet. I've had some tires last lots longer than others. For example, I put new Kuhmo KH16 tires on my daughter's Ford Escort when we purchased...

    2014 Volkswagen GTI 6 spd manual..your thoughts

If purchasing new or CPO from a dealership with warranty, I say go for it. VW Includes maintenance for the first three years so that's covered. The GTI provides an affordable package of performance and utility that is best in class. But then again, having owend 7 different VAG vehicles, I...

    West Virginia Dilemma

Next time you're in Charleston, take a drive by the Governor's Mansion. It's quite spectacular. You'll know you're there when you see the double-wide with the CHROME hubcaps.

    Joy ride in APC

Yeah I spent a few thousand hours in the M113 variants, both in the back and in the track commander's hatch. Best sleep I ever got was inside an empty M113 ambulance that I hitched a ride with during a 150K road movement.

    Audi Challenging US Headlight Rule

http://www.businessweek.com/articles/201...-headlight-rule Wow, read the article and Mercedez-Benz, BMW and (gasp!) General Motors are also joining the lobby for DOT to repeal the antiquated lighting ruling! That blasted GM... always pushing the envelope of the next automotive fad... LOL!!

Tips on how to increase situps?

Good progress, keep it up. At this point your only job is to continue to improve your fitness level. Do you have issued boots? If so, start walking in them! Work your way up to walking 12 miles, at 4mph minimum. Carry some weight on your back, too. Good luck!

    Kumho Solus KR21's are on

I put KR21s on my daughter's '98 Escort in October 2009. The car sits around a lot since she is away at college most of the year. The tires now, 2.5 years later, have about 15,000 miles on them and, although treadwear is minimal, the performance dropoff is astounding. Dry traction is not great...
