I think I could definately go 15k/1yr on this oil with an extra filter change and a half quart makeup oil. I think I will stick with Castrol GTX and 7500 mi oil changes after the ARX cycles. I may even just do a single ARX cycle, and then a 7500 mi oil change after and see how things are doing...

9.0 quarts approx with a filter change.

I didn't plan on having this many miles on the oil change, but life is what it is. I'm going to probably do two Auto-RX cycles and check again.

1996 BMW 750iL has a 8.5 quart sump, and takes 9 quarts for a full oil change. Can I get a comment from Frank on what I should do? Thanks, Mike

What amount of Auto-RX should I use in a car with a 9 quart sump? I remember at one time the instructions were 2 ounces per quart of sump capacity, but I don't see that anymore. Mike

I haven't put ATF in my engine, but it did clean up the crud in my oil container that I use to catch the old oil. This was Dexron II I think, that I used when I was trying to fix a leak in a transfer case. Just my 2 cents.

Anyone tried http://www.analystsinc.com/ ? They seem to be part of the LabCheck program from Castrol. Mike

The 10w/40 is the manufacturers recommended oil. I don't know of Castrol GTX is the recommended manufacturer, but it worked extremely well. I'd also say that I enjoy the car and driving it, so I'm not babying the car by any means. Thanks for all the comments so far, Mike

TeeDub: What makes you say it sheared? I've switched to 0w40 Mobil 1. I did the UOA to because I wanted to see if I had done any damaged to the engine with the extended oil changed interval. The flashpoint is 355, not 3555. Typo. The commute has some speeds up to 60, but it is Seattle area...
