    Sprinter Gen1 oil

Necrothread! We have a 2006 Sprinter purchased with 142,000 miles three years ago. Now has 187,000. We used Rotella T6 for previous oil changes, but it was not available locally. So purchased Castrol Edge Euro Car 5W-40. It was $38 locally for five quart jug so $76 for the change. It meets...

Are you driving the same car since 2010

Gave it to my daughter. She killed it at 254,000 miles. Not sure what was wrong (she’s in Colorado) but we netted $1,000 for the car and tires.

What's the allure of older 4Runners?

4WD - Crazy money. Gen 3’s even more. We bought a 2001 Limited with 113,000 miles for $8,500 and thought that was a good $3,000 more than a normal market. CT dealer has one for sale for $15,000!

Me and my Ariens Snow thrower

We got 22-24” in Boston but much lighter than normal. This is “normal” - salt enfused, wind blown heavy snow. Just ordered an impeller kit.

    New Winter Tires from Nokian

About to upgrade my 3.6R to R3 SUV from R2 SUV. We drive back and forth between our place near Mt Sunapee and Boston regularly. Is rather common to start in rain, drive through slush, and arrive in fresh snow. Between our fleet at work and our POV, we've owned Nokian RSI, R, R2, R2 SUV...

Nokian eNTYRE and Rotiiva HT, AT opinions?

We have eTyre 2's on several vehicles: great performance and they cost less than the Michelins we bought previously. We have Hakka R2 SUV winter tires [18" rims] on our 2016 Tahoe, plan to replace the stock 275/55R20 tires with the Rotiiva AT once winter is over and the R2's come off.

    BIL's 2012 S550 Mercedes Repair Bill

Sprinters have an electrical plug in the transmission. It's easy to change and costs $10-15. If not replaced periodically (some say 40,000 some 80,000), they have a tendency to leak through the connector, causing other problems. People put huge mileage on them so that might be a once-yearly...

    need tire advice!

We tried most of the new winter tires on our work fleet. We stopped and just bought Nokians because they always won. They are as expensive as the X-Ice But perform better and last longer. We have started using Nokian enTyre 2 as summer tires as we were so impressed with the Hakkapeliitas*...
