Yep they publish a list of oils, just like they did prior. They said the prior oil spec was the way to go, but it wasn't. So you have to babysit the manu's specs, they are trying to juggle a lot of variables - 7.3, 6.0, 6.4 and 6.7 now. Each with it's own emissions requirements and systems...
Well you def need a good UPS or FedEx account to make it worth while, but I estimate at most $23.75 per 5 liters after I return it. So like $75 for my 6.0 oil change. Probably less than that, just depends on your UPS / FedEx discounts. I did buy ESP once lately, they had it on really good...
Yeah I mean, Ford changed the spec a few years ago because the old spec showed premature wear. So, take Ford with a grain of salt, so I wanted to get a VOA to be sure. I love my truck and want to keep it for as long as I can, so more frequent oil changes, she just hit 220k
Far as I know yes, was mostly interested in the ZDDP content. Ford spec is somewhat specific about it, but wanted to be sure. I might run it in my Jeep 4.0's and my old tractor as well :D
I buy it because I can return used oil and get a refund, so oil changes net out to about 1/3-1/2 the cost for oil after return shipping to FCP Euro... 15 qts adds up. It's Ford truck certified, so I was wanting to verify content for my 6.0.
