I run synthetic in our '07 Taurus, but the brand does not matter to me as long as it's synthetic/synthetic blend 5w20. Just got a 5 qt of Maxlife 5w20 yesterday for next week when I'll be changing it.

'07 Taurus 82,000 (81,9 something but close enough). FL400S filter Mobil 1 5W20. I prefer Napa Gold and Purolator but know the OEM brand is better than one that rhymes with slam.

The impala: 5w30 Peak and L10111 Purolator at 110,000 plus. Taurus: 5w20 Castrol and Bosch 3422 at 79,000 plus.

I hope to get it again someday. Just one tow from 25 miles to the garage cost me $90. a Plus membership is $120 or so.

The one we had in our pos Impala worked very well until its "father" (me) reinstalled the dash after a radio replacement and pinched the wire. Still have to fix a couple things with that.

The'66 metallic light green LeMans my father had. Got rid of it because of an "electrical" problem. I wish he would have kept that, as 1. I'd be driving it (still) and 2. I would have been able to be a mechanic.

It doesn't bother me either way. I started to use Mobil 1 in my Taurus but until finances allow had to switch back to regular oil. Besides "creating" jobs, Govt should get the oil/gas/diesel prices down.

Like has been said it should be okay. I want to put synthetic 5w20 in the Taurus at the next change. Impala has a LIM gasket that's bad, so I stay with regular 5w30 in that car.

I was going to get one for the taurus but ended up going to Napa for the filter instead.

Impala (03) 103000+ 5w30 Napa Proselect Taurus (07) 68000 5w20 Napa Proselect. Will be running a synthetic in the Taurus starting next oil change (July/August).
