I know I said I was abandoning ship but this is my last update.
Took her for a spin this morning, about 20 miles. No "slipping" present.
Transmission fluid temp never went above 156.
KR was present at some points, most notably doing 60mph and I had 6 degrees of KR without even touching the gas...
Let my ask one more question before I exit the thread. I'm looking at that 5 degrees of false knock and wondering how high it could go under acceleration. Could that be causing my engine to pull a lot of timing and be mistaken for cvt slippage?
Slipping came back today and it's even worse. It's slips, grabs, slips, then takes off with little throttle effort. It would also hunt for the correct ratio when I took my foot off the gas while accelerating.
Here's my transmission temp after getting home.
Notice the low temp and false knock.
Not to argue but I've never gone full throttle off the line with my car. I barely take it above 3k unless I'm passing someone on the interstate and 90% of my driving is done in town.
I bought it with 69k on the clock. It's about to hit 89k. I had the fluid checked once after another dealer tried to lie their way into getting my to purchase a new transmission outside of my warranty. Second opinion shows clean healthy fluid.
Well I just took it for the spin and this AM and no issue. I think like Goblin said it's temp related. When it was slipping yesterday it was 90ish degrees outside and I was driving across town.
I can relate so much. I was hit by a car some years ago and my back, hip and ankles are known to bother me if I exert myself too much. I try to avoid the dealer cause I'm not that wealthy but my mobile mechanic has good deals. I just don't believe in paying almost $500 for something as easy as...
Should I start to worry? (I have a limited lifetime powertrain warranty)
The transmissionmission in my 19 Malibu LT has been a little Iffy since I took it through the mountains a few times following my fathers passing.
Most recently - Today - It felt like the TC was slipping. I'd apply the gas...
I had to order rear rotors. Turns out centric filed for chapter 11 and I never received my rear rotors. Ordered some Durago on the cheap since the rears don't do any real braking.
