Subaru Branded Oil Filters at Walmart? Hmmmm MP7317?

I bought exact same box from a Walmart approximately 3 weeks ago and found a black Tokyo Roki in it.

    Oil recommendations for Subaru 2.4T

In my Legacy GT with the same engine I've been using Castrol Edge EP 0w20 and Liqui Moly (both special tec Asia/America and Molygen 0w20 flavours) in 3000 mile intervals, sometimes going longer in warmer months. Been using the Hengst H345w oil filter and Wix 57055. In the winter months on UOAs...

Next New Oil You Will Try ?

Just put in Liqui Moly Molygen 0w20 SP rated into a Subaru Fa24.

I'm DONE with "premium" oil filters

No, haven't found it. Hengst seems to be very secretive. They only say "Excellent dirt retention capacity."

I'm DONE with "premium" oil filters

It pains me to say it, but it seems the Chinese are making well built oil filters with good looking internals. Trouble is finding the efficiency specs, for example Hengst makes some filters in China, the internals look great, but cannot find the micron ratings for them anywhere.

Another potential Subaru filter with the higher bypass pressure?

It may be made in China, but as you can see in the video it clearly isn't junk.

Talking to the dealer and their "master techs" I was told the 15208aa15a was not absolutely required and that a quality aftermarket filter was...

Vaico V30-1338 oil filter cut open

Very similar looking to a Hengst oil filter. Whip City Wrencher on YouTube has opened up a few.. The base plate, centre tube, and bypass valve look exactly the same.

Pennzoil Ultra or Amsoil SS vote

Depends on price really. My thought is you could go PUP every 5000 and still come out ahead.. And more regular routine maintence.

Mobil 1 EP 0w20 vs new Honda (Canada) Bottled

Both great oils. For a 5000 mi change the pc synthetic w20 will work well. Basically take your pick. It's mostly group lll "severe hydrocracked" but will work very well for you. Honda Canada apparently thinks so too. Sometimes if you go to a pc bulk supplier you can get good prices for a case...

Mobil 1 EP 0w20 vs new Honda (Canada) Bottled

The bottle kinda looks like a Petro Canada one. I know a while back they used them in Canada as their supplier.

    Valvoline EP New Package
