    European M1 oils like 0W-40, 5W-40 and 5W-30 meeting ACEA A3/B4 spec have quite high nitrogen content (about 50% more than its ACEA A5/B5 oils) and I would trust SonofJoe who was right claiming that some part of boron comes from boric acid to offset negative impact of nitrogen on Viton.

    Mobil1 5W40 FS x2: What is the point?

    If to be based solely on VOAs, viscosimetry and base oils specified in MSDSs, Mobil1 FS x2 5W-40 is fully dentical to Mobil1 FS 5W-40, but there are rumors that x2 contains a zirconium based friction modifier and it has really good resistance to cavitation among 5W-40 ACEA A3/B3/B4 oils.

    High Mileage S2000 needs some advice!

    Today, if to apply the formula with suggested coefficient 0.917, it would be 5%. I would start with QSUD/QSFS 10W-30 and if oil consumtion increases, I would try M1 FS X2 5W-40, or M1 5W-40 TDT or Formula M 5W-40.

    Hi, thank you. Then the drop in both viscosities is either caused by fuel (despite UOA did not show it), or the engine is tough on oil. As for Titanium, it seems at time of your purchase it was not simply added to Triton ECT. Have a great week-end !
