It shift poorly, like the synchros are fighting back. I don't think the MTF has been changed. I'm looking to upgrade to Amsoil or Redline. Amsoil says it takes Manual Syncromesh 5W-30 fluid. Redline says it takes MT-LV. Which is a 70/75 weight gear oil. Can some help me out please? How can...

Amsoil wins! Great showing by Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. I think that's the best value. I think he did a good job.

I just changed my ATF this weekend. Always use Honda fluid. Change about every 30k. Easy as an oil change. I get about 3-3.5 quarts out of the 9 quart system.

From a Honda perspective I alternate between Honda A01 or Fram Ultras depending on price/availability. I can’t justify spending any more on Mobil 1, Amsoil or Royal Purple. Ultras seem to be the best value considering their construction, cost and drain interval.

I replaced the same filter on my Element at about 180k just to be safe. I think it cost me $18. Thanks for the dissection picture!

I still use 0W/20 in my Element. May up it to 0W/30 eventually.

How about brake fluid? Will the turkey baster method work for that too?

My favorite specialty tool! I also bought a big bag of new push pins off eBay. A great, cheap must have for Honda's and whatever else.

Just FYI the Honda A01 filter is not made by Fram and does not have cardboard end caps. I avoid the A02 for this reason, just picky.

I use either Honda A01 or Fram Ultras.

My 03 had a valve adjustment at 110k. Still runs smooth at 227k.
