    Shelf Life

Read the article but can you tell that the oil is good just by the assay of the components? It does not have a conclusion, you have to make that yourself. Perry

    Shelf Life

I have had some recent concerns on another forum on shelf life of oil. I frequently use oil that is over 10 yrs old without issue. Usually it is some formulation of Mobil 1. I would not think that mineral oils would degrade over time if kept sealed in the original bottles. Perry

Kubota Super UDT2 in manual car transmission

I have an old 91 Mitsubishi Eclipse with a manual transmission. Use to run GM synchromesh and it worked fine in cold temperatures. Running Pennzoil version and it does not shift worth crap when cold. I have been looking at synthetic options and it gets expensive to try and dump at $100+ a pop to...

    Tractor Transmission/Hydraulic Fluid OCI

I wonder why Kubota says to change every 400 hrs and do a complete at the initial 50 hrs? Perry

    Tractor Transmission/Hydraulic Fluid OCI

I wonder if Blackstone can analyze my tractor fluid and determine if it needs changing or not. I am using Kubota super UDT. Fluid looks clean and clear after 300hrs.

    M1 10W-30 in 2010 Honda Rancher 4 wheeler

I am having shifting problems with my Honda Rancher with electric shift. It gets better when it is hot. I don't know what the PO put in there. I already put grease in the reduction gear box for the electric shift with no improvement. It seems to be internal friction on the dog clutches. I figure...

    M1 10W-30 in 2010 Honda Rancher 4 wheeler

Well the Rotella T and the Vavoline are conventional oils not synthetics. I already have some Delo 400 I can use if I want conventional oil. The Rotella T synthetic has gone through the roof lately. Perry

    M1 10W-30 in 2010 Honda Rancher 4 wheeler

A while back there was worry about synthetic oils and wet dish clutches. I just bought a Honda Rancher and I need to change the oil in it soon. I have plenty of M1 10W-30 and would like to use that in it, assuming it won't ruin the clutch. I have been using the old formula 15W50 M1 in my dirt...

Best synthetic for Mazda Direct Injection?

My wife has a 2016.5 CX-5 and it is a great car. We pulled a 5x8 cargo trailer to FL and back (700 mile one way) and it had plenty of power even on the way back with a trailer full of stuff. It burned a small amount of oil when new but I think it is getting better. We are talking less than half...

Mobil 1 10W-30 in lawn mower engine

I think it is a big single. Lets hope this is not a bad one. It is a platinum series. It is a hydro static and I don't know if the fluid needs changing in that periodically or not. It was made for Sears by Husqvarna. Perry Originally Posted By: Linctex Is the 21hp Briggs a large single? I...

Best synthetic for Mazda Direct Injection?

I have been running the Mazda 3 Skyactive with M1 0W20 or 0W-30 and the car runs great and burns no oil. It has over 30k miles on it now. I run the [censored] out of it. From what I have read, the Skyactive engine lets the intake valves run hot to reduce the condensation of carbon. The engine...

    Synchromesh Manual Transmission Lubricants

So why is the performance of Pennzoil Synchromesh so much worse than the original GM version? The Pennzoil is cheaper. The GM version shifted much better than the Pennzoil version especially in cold weather. Perry

Mobil 1 10W-30 in lawn mower engine

I just bought a Sears rider with a 21 HP Briggs in it. I plan on mowing 3 acres with it so it will get some use. Would it hurt to run Mobil 1 10W-30 in it? I have some old Delo 400 non-synthetic diesel oil as well. Most of the time I run mineral oils in push mowers but this one is a little more...

    Alternative for Kubota Super UDT

I am in the process of buying a Kubota tractor. It takes 11 gallons of Super UDT fluid to change out the transmission/hydraulic fluid. That is like $200 of fluid. Are there cheaper alternatives that are just as good? Perry

Looking Equivalent for Synchromesh Part #12345349

I am looking for a replacement for the old part number Synchromesh #12345349. I tried the Pennzoil version and it did not do well when cold where the real Synchromesh worked well when cold. I am putting this in a 91 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The dealer gave me some of the above stuff many years ago...
