I think it is just more expensive. We will see if the GTL base oil shortage will cause a change in some formulas. I notice less Pennzoil Ultra Plat in my local stores. Walmart is out.

Yes, it does look like a change away from GTL. Given the situation with the Pearl plant in Qatar, about half of the world's GTL base oil production is offline, and has been since mid March. I expect there will be more changes like this, and those oils than retain a high percentage of GTL base...
