There used to be 4 crew members, the Captain, 1st Officer, Engineer & Navigator. Nav was the first to go followed by the Engineer then by 2 engines as in transoceanic flights for safety 4 engines were required, now they say 2 are sufficient, and they are IF both are working :cool:;)

As an ex MB owner I can tell you this: Use only oil in the right weight range with the MB Approval number, follow the recommended OCI and do not use those....... suitable for or meets.... also live by this maxim "Nothing is more expensive than to be cheap on a MB"

A UOA on an oil capacity of ~10 litres is a waste of $$$. How much more to do a full OC? UOA are made for industrial/commercial capacities of tens of litres like you find in agricultural and industrial machines were the oil capacity is measured in gallons, here there is a real ROI.

It depends, timing chain life is also dictated by how often you change the oil. Extended OCIs will shorten its life as that oil lubricates the chain, so if there is debris in the oil it will lodge in the links and contribute to the wear & tear. Belt is not subject to this and much cheaper to...
