Never ever had a car with a working AC

Cars with large engine and bad aerodynamics tend to not get hit with AC as much as cars with good aerodynamic and small engine.

Never ever had a car with a working AC

So is it just a broken condenser? If so you can probably just swap it out and then hire a mobile AC guy to come charge it up at your home. I did mine about 15 years ago (I'm sure time has changed), or you can call a home AC guy and see if they are willing to charge for you.

    Counterfeit autolite spark plugs

I would say if Amazon only has 1 seller for that product, then it is probably ok. If 5 different sellers are selling them on marketplace, your chance of getting the genuine one is probably 1/5 even if you buy from Amazon itself. They mix all the inventories together.

Right to Repair - Ford’s Jim Farley

Emission is easy to bypass if you know ahead of time you are going to the dark side. A lot of my friend take off the cat and put a test pipe on, and swap the ECU, until smog time. When government makes it too hard and they already going dark? They might as well roll back their odometers. Going...

Right to Repair - Ford’s Jim Farley

Typically, the racing and tuning community would find a way to work around these. Sometimes it means you have to buy aftermarket parts or hijack the system with cracked rom. In the worst case you can pay some Russian to hack your tractor's firmware instead of gouged by John Deere. Or those...

Right to Repair - Ford’s Jim Farley

If Intel can stay in business somehow, Ford and GM would. Never underestimate the power of geopolitics.

Right to Repair - Ford’s Jim Farley

This is what a lot of "family company" is like. You can say Ford literally is a family company for better or worse. Still though. I would think the Ford family can learn a bit more from the Toyota family in how to pass down a legacy in long term ownership. People remember your breakdown way...

Honda posts first loss ever after EV pullback

Sometimes what they have to depreciate over time on their investment just doesn't impact the cash. They may have dump a lot of R&D money in there on the wrong powertrain and they could have expect it to generate revenue in the future, but instead they have to scrap the design and redo part of it...

    EVs on Long Road Trips

First off, your definition of "rural road trip" and "I don't want to think about it" and "there's gas station everywhere" is kind of vague. You will get into trouble in some places even with a gas car too like not having chain and snow related road closure (we have that in some part of...

Transmission fluid interval 2019 Corolla will dump and replace cause damage at 22,000?

Because in a lot of shop they don't like to measure drained fluid and the guy who drain may not be the guy who fill, so they have to have a way to just measure the fluid only by filling, which is the temperature method. Plus that's probably something their engineers already have a way to copy...

2006 Toyota Sienna - running warm at idle with AC on - solved with new radiator

When I had that kind of problem it was the head gasket, but that heat up was very fast, like idling in the heat storm would overheat before traffic light turn from red to green. Glad your problem was only the radiator. Mine just cracked and start seeing steam coming out at work instead of...

Subaru Has 3 New Stick Shift Cars Coming by 2027

I though it was actually the other way around on the Miata. On the main build page I am browsing, the base Sport model only has manual transmission and the automatic has to be the higher trim.

In-Laws and poor financial choices - rant

Unless they impact me I won't bother. Last month my former father in law insist his investment is not a scam and I couldn't convince him, so I told him to pay back the utility bills he was a bit behind on if possible, and he was able to actually convince those scammers to refund $10k so he...

Why cant people see things objectively

There's a saying that the optimist often succeed and the pessimist are often correct. I don't believe any single genetic trait we have got passed down in the long run by accident, they usually serve some purposes. It's human nature. We all want to be right because when we are "right" we tend to...
