Amsoil CVT fluid now Subaru certified?

Interesting. Why call the fluid Certified? Anyway, I can't remember the word "certified" being there in the past. It's not on the Australian Amsoil website (where I live).

Amsoil CVT fluid now Subaru certified?

I was browsing the US Amsoil website and noticed that the compatibility list for their Synthetic CVT fluid now has the following: Certified CVTF-II (SOA427V1660) Last time I was looking (months ago) this piece of information wasn't there. Has anyone else here noticed this or thought about the...

Any alternate automotive filter for a ride-on mower

Is there any automotive filter which will fit in place of a Baldwin B1410? Height of filter isn't a problem as there is nothing in the way. I've mail ordered the Baldwin filter but it's taking a long time to come and I was wondering if any automotive filters have the same thread etc.

post your latest transmission lubricant change.

Got the local auto trans shop to do a full flush on the MB 722.6 transmission in my Ssangyong Stavic after 103,000km. I supplied 16 litres of Fuchs 4134 and a Mann filter and gasket. Fuchs 4134 is the easiest approved fluid for me to get hold of here - can't get Shell 134. Valvoline does have...

post your latest differential fluid change

2013 Ssangyong Stavic 2.0 Diesel. Replaced original diff oil at 100K (supposed to be 45K). Supposed to fill with 85W-90, which is hard for me to get. Replaced with Amsoil 80W-90 because I wanted synthetic, and every other brand I could get at that weight is mineral. It has quietened the diff...

Do I HAVE to use only mazda type FZ fluid in a mazda transmission?

Try Ravenol, available in Australia. See here: http://ravenol.com.au/where-to-buy.php Someone on Whirlpool reckons it costs $20.60 per litre. See this thread https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2749191 Failing that, would you consider Penrite ATF LV for $15 per litre (or less than $10 if...

    Penrite Enviro C3 5w30 - Porsche C30

That Penrite Enviro+ C3 seems to be a good oil judging by the quietness of my engine, but I think I still prefer Nulon Long-life diesel 5W-30, as it's the only oil to reduce my fuel consumption (which I'm putting down to less DPF regens due to higher smoke point of this oil). I can't actually...

??? Wrong oil top up ???

Your engine won't suffer with that topup but your DPF life will likely be diminished. By how long is anybody's guess. What other specs did the A3/B4 oil carry? Or did it say anything of the likes of "meets or exceeds xxx spec)? Did it claim to meet any other Euro specs? For next time just buy a...

Jeep oil viscosity chart... riddle me this?

You're all reading this wrong, though I admit it's easy to do. The chart does NOT indicate that 5W-30 doesn't cover the same hot side as 10W-30. The end of the range is specified by the pointy end. The flat end is not where the range ends. It's where they stopped drawing the line. In other...

    210,000km engine oil?

I'm a fan of synthetic. Locate a half-decent automotive shop (Supercheap, Autobarn, Repco etc) and buy a 10W-40, preferably synthetic. 210,000 is getting on a bit but if it's been looked after it should still be in good condition, If it burns oil, go thicker, but start with 10W-40. Don't go...

What do you prefer in your motor oil?

Molybdenum definitely. I added a bottle of Nulon MolyDTC additive to the oil of my diesel car, which is one of those engines with noticeable differences in sound between cold and hot, one brand of fuel and another etc. The reduction in noise is noticeable. If sound is in any way an indicator of...
